According to Yao, he made two wishes in 2003: Rockets get back in the playoffs in 2004, CNT final 8 in the Olympics. Both dreams came true.

Biggest regret in 04: SF3 and Cat are gone.

For 2005, Rockets sharply rebound and get in the playoffs. Dream of a NBA champion. Still a long long way to go. Hope that Rockets can get a big PF that can rebound.

Also wish to score at least 50 points in a game.

I guess I might as well post the 3 posts I did for Yao Mania of ClubYao for the posters/viewers here.

This is the first one by Yao Ming in English over his official yaoming.net.

I'm willing to put up a small wager say 100 bucks and the money will go to the victims of the Stunamis. The bet is this : all the Yao haters out there and you know who you are, if you have a chance to meet Yao in person, you will walk away, really impressed by him and perhaps your hate will turn into admiration.

I challenge you to find a better guy than Yao in the NBA. Sometimes it hard for me to comprehend the hatetred! That's why I feel that if you'd had a chance to meet Yao, you can't help but like the guy instead of the white hot hate.

I agree with you in that I don't understand the Hatred of Yao, but I think you are taking it completely the wrong way.

I think 99.9% of the people on this board admire Yao as a person. Some probably feel that he is not performing as well as he should or can, and I think Yao would probably even agree with that (He even admits he needs to improve on turnovers). You have to understand that people on this board live and die with everything Yao or any of the other Rockets do and when an opinion is formed and expressed in writing it can seem like hatred, but I don't believe any of them actually hate him as a person.

I am a big SF3 and Cat fan, and that is something I definitely had to learn. People go to extremes when they criticize players and you can't take it personally as anything more than critical of basketball skills.

That's the key. Don't take everything ppl say here too seriously. Remember this is BBS where ppl tend to be very opinionated and subjective.;)

RocketmanJosh and Dollar Bill, I agreed with both of you wholeheartedly! I never take anything personally especially in a forum like the message board.

I understand 99.9 % of us who are here love Yao and want him to succeed and when he's not playing up to our expectations, we get disappointed and critized him, I'm okay with that 100%, it comes with the territory.

What I don't get are the hardcore Yao haters and believe me there are plenty of them too. For whatever reasons they chose to hate on Yao, it does not matter what Yao does, he could have a good game or a bad game, I'll venture so far to say even if Yao leads us to a championship, the haters will still be around pointing out his faults. I get that! It's part of life, no matter who you are, there's always will be people who either hate you or love you.

But the irrational hatred for Yao by the Yao haters totally vexed me! That's why I put up that bet to show them how much I believed in Yao and Yao will convert them after a chance encounter with him.:)
