In the Long Run - Eagles
Creedence Clearwater Revival - The Midnight Special
    Eightball - 360 Degrees
Master P - Bout It Bout It 2
Naughty By Nature - Clap Yo Hands
    Puff Daddy - Victory
    Wyclef Jean - Thug Angel
Archie Bell & the Drells - Tighten Up

There are a TON of rap songs that have Houston mainly because Raps-a-Lot Records here is one of the big rap labels, but that is a short list I could find.

My favorite is "Lord Only Knows" by Beck where I swear he says, "Going back to Houston/To the hot dog dance/Going back to houston/To get me some pants"

Honorable Mention: Galveston by the Rhinestone Cowboy guy

Good call Wrath. That is what Beck says at the end of that song.

The Rhinestone Cowboy guy is Glen Campbell, by the way.

There's a lot of rap songs with the word "Kalamazoo" in them...does anyone know why they mention that place so often?? Just because it sounds weird?

Don' forget the best of them all, "Texas Women" by Hank Williams Jr.! In the same song he also says "I'm an Oiler fan, not a soccer man"...very cool lyric.

"The only problem is I always think of the guitar player from Dokken when I hear his name." -Traj, on the possibility of George Lynch joining the Rockets.

    And don't forget:
"Houston means that I'm one step closer to you"-Don't remember
    and
"Houston, we have a problem"-Joe Diffie--very cool song that didn't get as big as it should have.

The original lyrics to "Midnight Train to Georgia" were "Midnight Train to Houston," but the producers thought Georgia sounded better. How's that for useless knowledge...

    Remember this one?

    Oilers Fight Song
Look out football, here we come, Houston Oilers, Number One. Houston has the Oilers, the greatest football team. We take the ball from goal to goal like no one's ever seen. We're in the air, we're on the ground - always in control, And when you say the Oilers, you're talking Super Bowl.
'Cause we're the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers, Number One. Yes, we're the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers, Number One.

We've got the offense, we've got the defense, We give the other team no hope. 'Cause we're the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers, You know we're gonna hold the rope.

Yes, we're the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers, Number One. Yes, we're the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers, Number One.

'Cause we're the Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers, Number One - Five - Seven - Eight, We're the best from the Lone Star State! Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers, Houston Oilers, Number One

Didn't the Dolphins steal that song? I remember hearing something about them having an almost-identical "fight song".

Sam, Yep, Miami stole it. I remember watching a Dolphin game on TV and hearing it. Very strange.

    How about a rare one?

"Life on the Road" by the Kinks

    -When I arrived in Houston
-I was little more than a child
-And I didn't know then that the dives and the dens
-Would be so vulgar and wicked and wild

I guess Ray Davies spent some serious time on Telephone Road. Or in Montrose! [IMG]

"L.A County" by Lyle Lovett mentions Houston. There are probably more Lyle Lovett songs that mention Houston, but that's the only one I can think of off hand.
