As someone has pointed out before, if the Cavs players thought it was serious enough, they would've fouled someone. The point isn't that the play should be stopped. But rather who is responsible for getting the play to stop. In this case, it's the other Cavs players who are responsible for reacting quickly to stop the play on the court. Not the Rockets. Because of the way it occured, there really wasn't much time for the stuff you said anyway. Mutumbo had the ball, and he didn't realize what had happened until later.
The real question is whose elbows are worse: Mutombo or Shawn Bradley? I remember Bradley taking a few guys out with his sticks before too.
It is also the norm in soccer to give the ball back to the team that kicked the ball out of bounds. If the Rockets had threw the ball out of bounce, the Cavs could just give it back to the Rockets. This trend should start immediately! Go fair play! wohoo
Mutombo is a bit out of rythmn on the court and thus causes many accidents to happen with his elbows. The guy is just not on the same frequency as the rest of the players. DD
I love all the press Deke's elbow is getting. It can only be a good thing as far as I am concerned. Folks around the NBA will think twice next time before venturing into the lane to contest a rebound opportunity with Dekembe "the enforcer" Mutombo. Yeah!!!!
The moment we got Deke I was scared that Yao would get hurt at some point from those lethal elbows. I'm still scared.
I'm glad Leborn will be able to play with a mask. He is a fun player to watch. I'm happy we beat the Cavs but I enjoy seeing him on the court.
