Ward undergoes surgery Rockets G Ward undergoes surgery, out at least six weeks December 29, 2004 HOUSTON (Ticker) - Houston Rockets guard Charlie Ward is expected to miss at least six weeks after undergoing knee surgery. Ward, who was placed on the injured list Sunday, underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee. The procedure was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama. In 14 games, including 13 starts, Ward has averaged 5.4 points and 3.1 assists this season. He has not played since a November 26 loss to the Utah Jazz. Since Ward's departure from the Rockets lineup, Houston has acquired guards Jon Barry and David Wesley in separate trades. A former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback at Florida State, Ward has averaged 6.3 points and 4.0 assists in 630 games with the New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs and Rockets. At least we won't have to watch him for another 6 weeks. Hopefully, by the time he comes back, we'll either be in the playoff hunt and won't need him or will be totally in rebuild mode and won't want him.
Didn't the Texans have a TE that played BBall for Rutgers? Can't think of his name and he isn't on the active roster.
How did almost everyone BUT the Rockets orginazation know that crappy play and something like this were highly likely to happen? Pugs
