Since I have had time today and I never have tried one of these threads because I don't like them and since my mind is about gone after the debacle in Mil...

    here goes

Would you trade Yao and Bowan
For Carmello and Nene straight up?

I know, I know, you might consider it if Van Gundy is in the deal.

    I wouldn't either.

I would sign Yao long term and wait this mess out.

I think Les is smart enough to avoid knee jerk reactions.

The moves we recently made make sense- Lue for Barry
    needed backcourt help

    Wesley- injuries forced us

OK I am getting back to normal

    back to the matrix

Ah, a deal only a YOF could love; surprising.

    No.

Would anyone consider Yao+Mo+Ward for Lakers w/o Kobe?

Les has to be an idiot business-wise to do this. NBA is first a business, with basketball a remote second. You just don't trade away your cash cow for anything. Yao is probably the most influential player in the NBA right now (or second only to LeBron), considering his huge fan base in Asia and globally.

On the other hand, if Rockets stunk the rest of the season like they did against Bucks, Yao may be wise not to sign long-term contract here...

Yep our team value estimated by forbes did not just go up because of those shiny jerseys

I wouldn't do any trade right now, but if I were a rocket executive I wouldn't just blindly assume Yao is going to be immensely popular internationally for his whole career. IF he's going to get 17/8 year after year after year, I would think fans are going to start tuning him out, no matter that he's asian and 7'6".

    No way.

And I think people who continue to use the term "YOF" might just be "YOH".

The sure way to decrease Yao's popularity is to watch JVG continue to keep Yao a one-dimensional player in his so-called "system". The difference between JVG and rest of the league: JVG turn gems into garbages, while others turn garbages into gems.

Sigh, now I agree with Charvo, trade Yao + Mo for Mihm + Odom. YOF and YOH will be all happy. What a surprise!

Yao might be overrated BUT carmelo is the most overrated player in the NBA. That trade is not even close to being even.

No I would not do the trade. All we need for our PR is someone that has been making DVD's with murderers and mobsters. Say no to Carmello!!

I'd do Yao plus filler for Boozer & Kirilenko then try to nab a cheap yet mobile C in the offseason. A team that can go 4-3-2 with Boozer Kirilenko Tracy is pretty tight defensively and is quick enough to get up and down the court.

Basketballwise it is way lopsided in favor of the rockets but Yao's non-basketball worth is much higher than both those two players so that makes it more even. If I were Larry Miller and I wanted to enhance the Jazz value, shedding those two contracts for the price of one and adding arguably the most globally marketable player in the league is a good way to do it.

This of course will never happen, but since we're talking fantasy..

It does't work straight up, not mentioning our garbage fillers.
