........from taking a "commanding" position in the #8 position in the tough Western conference. Who would have thunk it? If you did not look closer you would think that we are stuck deep in the lottery pole position but that is not the case. In fact we could be only a half game out of 7th place by the end of play, Tuesday. You know what? It gets better - we could be in 7th place with another win by the end of NBA bussines day, Wednesday. Things have been tough so far no doubt but it could be worse. Lets count our blessing and hope for better days going forward. I believe good days are ahead of us - join the waggon. Happy holidays. Go Rox!!!
Yeah, but I'm seriously concerned about Milwaukee. According to recent reports, we have no one left to play the point...cept Bull. Sura has water on the knee, Barry can't be ready to pull big minutes, Reece Gaines scares the $4!t out of everybody, Wesley probably won't make it in time, Ward needs an operation (knee scope), Barrett is still on the IR, and I believe Bowen is on the IR as well. Our potential lineup: Jon Barry, Reece Gaines, TMac TMac, Jon Barry TMac, Scott Padgett Juwan, MoT Yao, Mutumbo Someone please tell me that I'm misinformed? Maybe we can pick up Yuta Tabuse on a 10-day? I was really hoping that we'd use the open roster spot on Lee Benson.
Ive avoided looking at the standing all year long. Only 4.5 games back from a 4th seed also. Wow. Only 1 game. Considering how poorly we have played and some of the bad teams we have lost to, we are in good shape here. If we can get on a good roll, we can be right in the hunt for a home court advantage in the 1st round. So much parity in the West this year though ....it won't be a given. Hopefully these roster moves will shake things up and get us going on a roll.
I know that this is a longshot, and the Rox would need to play much better. But after everything that has happened this year, even the thought that something like this might be possible just boggles my mind.
Yes we're knocking on the door, but it took an uncanny schedule in December to get close. Since Dec 2nd, we've played 9 home games, only one road game (against an expansion team), had 15 out of 25 days off, played 5 of those 10 games against the worst in the league (I'm not even counting the Clippers or Raptors), and STILL could NOT get to 0.500. Now, our schedule gets a bit tougher. Check out January. If we're 0.500 at the end of that month, it would be one hell of an accomplishment. Unlike this month (4 out of 14), we'll be facing winning teams 8 out of 14 games. Hey, being 13-14 would be good enough for a #8 seed in the East! The bad news is, Carmelo Anthony is not out for the season. You can rest assured that Denver won't continue to drop 6 in a row once he's back. Utah probably can't recover from the loss of AK47 at this point, which has been our only real saving grace. Evan
They are also just one loss away from possibly falling into the eleventh position, and with one more loss after that falling into the twelfth spot. There is really only one club (New Orleans) that could not catch the Rockets within a week.
Our last 10 games are pretty encouraging. We shouldn't have beat the spurs, but we also should have beat the bobpuss at least once. philly W 77 - 76 New Orleans W 89 - 81 Antonio W 81 - 80 Dallas L 78 - 102 9-12 T. McGrady 15 Atlanta W 92 - 69 Golden State W 100 - 83 Charlotte L 100 - 101 OT Toronto W 114 - 102 Charlotte L 87 - 90 Clippers W 96 - 79 I also like the fact that our last 4 wins are blowouts.
Couldn't refuse the temptation didn't ya? Fair enough anyway but I refuse to look at it pessimistically. Go Rox!
Good post Fegwu. The doom and gloom on this board the last few days has been ridiculous. Wesley WILL be a nice surprise.
Well, they end the evening in a dogfight. Tied with Denver, and in a virtual tie (percentage points ahead) of the Clippers for the ninth spot. Memphis is in the twelfth spot a game back, two back in the loss column.
The only "bate" I can't refuse is personal, and none of your business As to "bait," there isn't anything remotely approaching that here. I just thought the readers of this thread might appreciate an update on the standings.
