Or maybe, JVG could pull his head out of his A$$ and put in players that have a decent chance at scoring the ball instead of bringing in the likes of Charlie (WAY over the hill) Ward. Max, you honestly think Boki got a fair shake in his barely 2 years here? DD
Max, Boki WAS the Rockets, so in fact if he comes to down and lights up the mercernaries who dwell in the Toyota center, Houston wins.
i think he showed very little when he played. bokis are a dime a dozen. there's tons of them out there. trading this one doesn't hurt you, because they're in big supply. short of standing up to Karla, i have not one memorable boki moment from his years here. not one. you make your own way. elie was under-used in the 94 season, but he flat out earned his way up to being a huge contributor in the 95 season. i don't see boki having that kind of impact. and comparing him to sam freaking cassell is just out of line.
before you blame JVG, he played less under Rudy than he did under JVG perhaps JVG and Rudy saw something in Boki that said he can't play like they or anyone else thought he could also, Ward and Boki play two different positions .......im sure you knew that though
you just blew my mind. do we even have a team still?? i think the franchise just...disintegrated. i'm not sure the rockets exist sans boki.
This just in: Boki will now join Mirsad Turkcan and Dan Langhi on the Joe Ash Shooting Drill All Stars touring exhibition squad - coming to a town near you in 2005!
if i would have had coffee in my mouth, it would have been spit all over the bylaws and articles of incorporation sitting in front of me. brilliant!!!
What about Bryce Drew? He's not on the team? He got jipped! But I'm sure if Bryce Drew would have just played more, he would have been the next John Stockton...
Brilliant!!! Typical overreaction with Boki. He might be an ok player, but he did nothing in his time here to show that he was. He didn't really ever develop as a player during his time here, and was basically a wasted roster spot during his tenure. Most wouldn't know he existed except for that foul on Malone in the playoffs.
I have been a Kings fan for 6 years. I still cheer for them when they are not playing us. Peja and Divac had a following almost identical to Yao's. Kings were/is Yugoslavia's team. Peja was not that good when he first came to the NBA. He had many of the same problems as Yao had/does. Although the behavior of his fans are identical to that of Yao's, terms like POF was never coined. "POFs" were never bashed like YOFs. It is an interesting fact. If Yao is a bench warmer small forward from China, and Boki is a prodigy center from Slovenia.....would we come up with terms like BOF and use it with a negative connotation? Would we still come up with the term "YOF"? I honestly don't know the answer to that... Maybe the first euro in the league went through the same thing.
I think the most telling thing is that if you shopped Nachbar around the league for a straight-up trade, you wouldn't get anything for him. And it's not only because he didn't get minutes--he didn't earn minutes, and he didn't show anything when he was in there. If I remember correctly, he was awful even during summer league when they tried to run the offense through him more. We had hopes for him, but they didn't work out, and so realistically, he wasn't going to be here next year anyway.
Or quite possibly, not even in the NBA. The only reason CD kept him for three years is because letting him go would have been admitting that he was a bad pick to begin with. Other teams will keep him on their roster only if actually deserves to be there.
Have you guys seen that Rockets Family Pack commercial... Dang, Lue's in it and so is Boki...Can't remember who else is in it, but I think it's Sura...Note to self, if I'm a rocket, don't do commercials....
