OK, so I'll be heading down to Houston on Wednesday to watch UTEP dismantle those silly Buffs from Colorado in the EV1.net Houston Bowl. So I'm wondering if Reliant Stadium usually has the roof open or closed during football games. Weather.com says it's gonna be fairly nice that afternoon (high in the mid-seventies and mostly cloudy), but I would still like to be prepared for unexpected bad weather if the roof is usually open. So tell me, guys. Is the roof usually open or closed?
Speaking of the Houston Bowl, I have 5 tixs to give away, got them from work but forgot that I am working that day... Anyways, the seats are not all that great, but hey they are free, you just got to meet me somewhere to hand it to you. Btw, it was open last year then they closed it at halftime because it started to drizzle rain.
If no one has taken them yet, I will take them!!! Not a big College football fan, but my little brother has never been to a football game and I would like to take him. Thanks in advance!!!
I was at the the Texans/Colts game on a beautiful afternoon but the people siting in the North end zone looked like they were being blinded and burned by the sun. Really I don't know how they could see anything. The powers that run these things seem to think that the feel of playing outside is sacrosanct but the steep seating designs that make such good sight lines also make too much contrast in the sunny and shady areas of the field. I was 3 rows up from the field in the South end zone and when the WR's ran from the bright areas to the shade it was like they were running into a dark room. (maybe that's why Carr can't ever find a secondary receiver). Of course the abortion that is Texas stadium in the worst.
if there's even a remote chance one of the people in a luxury suite may break a sweat, the roof will be closed.
Dave 2000 - Check this out. We get to the Houston Bowl and go to our seats in section 525, the upper mezzanine. We get up there and there is a gentlemen with a thick stack of tickets. We see a little crowd and decide to see whats going on. He was trading the upper tickets for better tickets on the ground. We ended up sitting 7th row in the endzone. IT WAS GREAT. I am glad I got there early. I guess there wasn't a lot of people on the ground level, so they were moving people to make it look like people were showing up to the game. Whatever the reason was, I got to see a good football game from the 7th row. Thanks Dave2000; You Da man!!!
Damn, a really fun game but the fourth quarter just didn't go our way... Hope you had fun, tim, and hopefully the Miner faithful made an impression on you...
They sure did...They ALL came out and supported their team. It was a good game. A very good game...until the end of the fourth!!!! I have to admit, I was rooting for the TEXAS team.
