Is Colin Pine even around these days? I read he took a job with the Asian Basketball Association this summer.
I always think that Rockets will never trade Yao and he will also re-sign with the team. After last 6 months, I wont be surprise one day I would click on the forum and find a stickied thread "Yao traded for xxx". I also wont feel surprise if Yao refuse to sign the extension next season. Afterall he learns NBA's all about business and loyalty seems out of consideration. Not that there's anything with that.
Not quite true. He's still around for press and translating scouting reports/game plans - and he still travels with the team. He was working in China this summer, but not for the ABA.
Maybe he's thinking something POSITIVE. As in this team is trying to do everything it can to surround him with a team that can win. Oh no, that's not possible!
thanks Mr. Clutch for keeping it real, and reminding everyone around here that we should see how things work out for AT LEAST a few games before we fire our coach and decied our #1 draft pics leave for other teams.........it's you, me and like 5 other guys.......we're in trouble
what does it matter what yao thinks? what i want to know is, what does bob sura think? i mean, now three of his teammates when he came here are gone. i dont know what i would do in his shoes. lighten up.
I don't really care too much what Yao thinks -- he should be thinking about stepping up his game to the next level. What does concern me is that we now have 20% of our starting team from last year. That's a lot of change over the course of, what, 8 months?
Yao is thinking he better play up to his potential AND resign with Houston. Since he arrived, the whole team is traded away to fit him better. You can even argue the beloved champion coach Rudy was forced to step down. If Yao fails to do any one of those things, he might become the most hated rocket ever. Especially if he went to a different team.
well said I would also point out AGAIN to all the YOFs that are so worried - last time I checked every other freaking team in the league was overhauling rosters - Dallas, New Jersey, New York, Chicago, Miami, LA... he can't run from the NBA's here-today-traded-tomorrow business.
He's all warm and fuzzy thinking about working hard for his coach who is so loyal to all the players.
Well first of all, I don't know why Yao would think this is personal or be sad. All these trades are CD's uncommon sense way of getting better players around Yao. While I do agree that this last trade for Wesley was questionable, Yao has to understand that he has to be surrounded by shooters, not by friends.
Yao might think, well I am the last one from Rudy's team, what is the day for me to be traded? I better work hard to sign a Max somewhere. I see Yao is changed from a nice, classic kid into a aggresive, mean guy. Who is better? I don't know. I guess few cares about how Yao feel, because we just care what Yao bring us and this team.
I think Yao must be in some kind of shell shock.. when he first joined the team Moochie, SF3, Cat5 and Cato really reached out to him and made him feel a part of the team. one by one everyone he is close to was traded away to make this his team.. well him and Tmac. Its tough on anyones psyche when they trade away people you are friends with. J
Coming from a culture highly value the team spirit, and the banding among members of the team, Yao got a reality check pretty fast. There is no royalty in this business. You do the best for yourself. If it means over someone's dead body, just step ove it!
u are correct i meant when he was drafted and well . . . When it comes to MO I have a blindspot. . i just refuse to see him Rocket RIver
