Now that 2 moves are made, the Rox should now focus their attention on improving the PF spot. Any inside informations out there ? I hope the Wesley trade would not be the last move...

Now that our two most tradeble assests besides Yao and Tmac are gone what else do we have.

We found a serviceable power forward during Clutch City II off the scrap heap, so maybe we can look there again.

The only PF the Rockets can trade for is one with a bad contract. So what we would be looking for is a PF that is overpaid but also a physical player that would better complement Yao. I think a player that fits that description is Antonio Davis. The Rockets could trade Mo Taylor and a protected 1st round pick for AD.

This also will give the Rockets a sick amount of available cap space after the 2005-06 season. Antonio Davis's contract will come up then, as will Clarence Weatherspoon's, and David Wesley's. That will be three huge contracts all coming up in the same year. On realgm AD's contract takes up 43% of the cap, Spoon's takes up 20%, and Wesley's takes up 15%.

    Shady,

I'd love to have such a player as AD but he's about 80 years old, so giving up a protected first rounder....no. But yes, that's the sort of PF we need.

AD can still play well in short stretches. I would rather have Antonio Davis spliting time with Juwon Howard then with his clone Mo Taylor. AD's still putting up decent numbers in the number of minutes he plays.

    24 minutes
    5.7 points
    5.0 rebounds

The real value of the trade would be with the cap space we would have after the 05/06 season. It would be huge.

I’m really not expecting the Rockets to add anybody else to the team that will make a significant impact. I just hope they somehow find a way to unload either Taylor or Howard. This is one of the circumstances where it’s addition by subtraction. If one of those two are traded away, I think the other is going to play much better. They both are averaging 7pts and 4rbs (14 and 8 combined). That’s roughly the amount of production you could expect from either guy by themselves, if given playing time.

maybe we'll see the Taylor for Rose rumor come true now that we moved T-Mac to the 3. I'm all for it if we can make Marshall included. how about Taylor+Spoon (shorter contract) for Rose+Marshall? (words are they'd trade Rose for Taylor or Rose+Marshall for Eddie Jones+something)

    Yao Ming, Mutombo
    Marshall, Howard, Padgett
    McGrady, Bowen
    J. Rose, Barry
    Wesley, Sura, Barrett

or maybe Rose the 6th man to provide some scoring off the bench?

    Yao Ming, Mutombo
    Marshall, Howard, Padgett
    McGrady, Rose, Bowen
    B. Sura, Barry
    Wesley, Barrett

    or maybe no more change:

    Yao Ming, Mutombo
    Howard, Taylor
    McGrady, Bowen
    B. Sura, Barry
    Wesley, Barrett

HA! I would do that in a second! No way does the 76ers do that one! Remember they are still trying to rid themselves of KT, why take on two more over priced PFs?

The Rose for Taylor+change rumor makes more sense if the Rockets made that move now. I doubt the Raptors would do Taylor+Spoon. They would want Taylor+Deke because Deke's contract expires after this year. They would trade Rose for Taylor to rid themselves of Rose and pay less over the life of the contract. I doubt we could also get Marshall in the deal.

I too like to read some intelligent conversation. As a matter of fact, I think your trade proposal may benifit both sides. However posting the same trade link in several threads is about as irritating as a broke drunk going into a bar & yelling "I'll drink to that!!" every time a paying customer says something.
