JJ is going to be a loss, the guy was the leader in the locker room, and after one of his best games of the year as well. There has to be more to this trade then meets the eye.
CD is on 610 now Cd said charlie is hurt sura is hurt.. They did not want to have tmac handling the ball all the time. Bobby will be ok it will take a little time from his injury. He said we added barry and wesley because they can shoot... Then right after that he said "Hopefully it works"
Question.... if the rockets were to buy out taylors contract or howards contract....would they take the salary cap hit all in one year? or would taylor and howard still be on the books for the next 2 and 3 yrs? If they can take the cap hit all in 1 yr....they need to buy out those contracts and go after some major free agents offseason after this! As for this trade....im for it, wesley can really handle the ball and had a couple of double digit assist games this yr, jackson wasnt much of a passer. Wesley and jackson are both physical defenders, but have trouble guarding quicker players. Both are streaky shooters. Maybe jvg just wanted to shake things up.
Is our management on crack? Are they going through with trade offers that their kids are coming up with? What the hell is going on. "Hopefully this works"???????? This is really frusterating me... George is getting angry.
It's not like the NFL. You can't buyout a contract and take it off the books if the player continues to play. You have to trade them or they stay on the cap.
1. We should not have traded anything more than Francis + Cato to get McGrady. We definitely shouldn't have accepted Juwon Howard's garbage contract in that deal. Steve's stats alone this year are superior to T-Mac's. 2. We should not have included Boki in this deal. Wesley for Jackson straight up is more than fair to the Hornets. 3. Never should have signed Ward. The Dawson/Van Gundy player personnel decisions really make me wonder.
This trade is at least neutral if not improve Rockets performance. No reason to be so upset. JJ just happened to have a solid night with 21 points (which was his season high), causing people to complain the trade. If this trade came after a subpar performance by JJ, people will root for it.
CD on sura's knee and c ward "They are worried especially when they can not tell us why it keeps swelling. He almost did not play yesterday he is better today. Charlie we are up against it with him it does not look good..with charlie" He asked the hornets about PJ brown and they did not seem to want to discuss him.
I feel bad for JJ. He, Steve and Cat were the only ones to play 110% all last year and JJ this year as well. Once again we gave up TOO much. Maybe Boki will fullfill his potential now.
Does anybody remember the JVG's time with the Knicks and the roster additions that were made during that time. It seemed to me that they kept adding 2 guard after 2 guard until that was all they had. Look at our roster now. TMac - 2G JBarry - 2G Sura - 2G Wesley - 2G Gaines - 2G? The other half of the roster is soft PF's MoT Juwan Padget Spoon I don't know what the hell Bowen is Rounding out the roster are our 2 Centers Yao Deke oh yeah we have a NDBL PG in Barrett I have no idea what the hell we are doing but we only have quality NBA players at 2 positions, 2G and C. The rest is a big hole full of untradeable, overpaid, or undertalented people playing out of position. Chicken Little is starting to make sense.
The more I think about this trade the more I like it. Yes, I like it. First of all, Jackson was a great fit for our team last year because he slowed it down when Cuttino and Francis got out of control. He makes pretty good decisions when the game is slow. Wesley is an up tempo guy. I think Wesley fits better with McGrady because of this. Second, McGrady can drive, but has a little more trouble doing so from the 2 because the defense is a hair faster. Wesley drives as well so whoever the defense decides to stop the drives to the basket the other can take over. Getting close to the basket allows Yao to get a few extra dunk attempts off of easy offensive rebounds and dishes to Yao off of the extra defender moving in to stop the drive. I see this as a way to get easier baskets for both Yao and McGrady. Third, Jackson is a journey man and has been for a reason. The nine teams before us let him go for a reason. Moving around the NBA suits Jackson for whatever reason. I wouldn't question that too much. Last, Jackson was the "leader" of this team. I think this will force our on the court leaders to take over. They don't want to do it so maybe this was a way to force them to. I look for McGrady to improve his scoring numbers and Yao to be a little fresher towards the end of games. The only thing I worry about now is rebounding. We used to have an advantage in the backcourt. However, this may be another statement to Yao and the PF crew to start making the effort to get more boards. Rebounding is 90% effort. Here's the Mr Optomistic side. I hope you like it.
are we gonna be able to call in and ask CD questions?.......... oh yeah flaming time j/k i would never call, i hate hearing myself on the radio
Well, as an owner, you should never allow coaches to make personnel decisions. 2 years ago when Rudy T left, Les should hire a new GM and let the GM handle things (new coaches, players, drafts). Now let's just see what it is going to happen.
Cannot believe that they traded away JJ! And now Yao's best buddy is also gone. I only wish that Boki fulfilled his potential somewhere. This is sad.
Are we the oldest team in the league now? It's funny that we have a 24 and a 25 years old star player but the overall age of the team is approaching mid-30. Young stars and old role players. Is it going to work?
What a MFer deal!!! Trade 2 for 1 and it is for Wesley? JVG and CD couldn't be more stupid! Wesley can shoot the ball? He has the same percentage as JJ's!
