Thank you Vengeance, for a very well thought out post. I've been struggling with the idea of loyalty and what it really means when it comes to your favorite team. I feel like I am still a Rockets fan - only it seems to be for Rockets that now play for the Wolves or the Spurs or are coaching the Lakers.

As agrivating as he could be, Cat was the last Rocket I felt some kind of connection with - his late draft position always reminded me of the great CBA pickups of the Rudy era. I always loved how we could find value where others saw none, and these players (i.e. Mario, Chucky, even David Wood the generation before) and these guys illustrated their gratefulness with complete and total effort.

One of the beautiful aspects of fandom is the feeling that you have watched a player grow and develop, and a team mature and gel. Abstractly like raising children I guess.

Conversely, we have two guys who used to bloody and bruise Dream when they knew they couldn't beat him fairly, now wearing our name across their chests. Pisses me off lots. I feel its a slap in the face to H and all the boys that battled through that sweet, sweet slop-fest of a final series.

I'm okay the with new uni's I guess - at least they are red. Its hard not to think of the Seinfeld line about cheering for clothes. I like JJ - he feels right. I just can't help but feel like a pretty fair weather fan supporting our little ******* head coach and his band of below average talent imports.

Or for a lower quality, more oblique pop culture reference, I feel like Harrison Ford's character from Mesquito Coast - I cancelled my League Pass subscription after five years because I just can't stand watching this team die.

Maybe your just not supposed to love the new guys for a while - like buying a new puppy the day the family dog passes.

I don't know. But I still check the box scores to see how Sammy, Cat, Steve are doing before I bother with my favorite team from my favorite sport from my freaking home town.

    You can say that again.

Are you just coat-tailing or you stock in a time warp?

Have you not heard that we averaged 99.4 points per game over the last 5 games? Where is the patience? Where is the rational? Have you seen any games lately.

It is written; "fans" who jump ship way early (especially in long NBA and MLB seasons) when there is still cause and hope for a turnaround are either girly-men or bandwaggoners. QED.

how come Tim from teh Rox doesnt post hear anymore? i would lvoe to hear his thoughts on this.

i mean, i understadn that there is only so much he can do about winning and losing. BUT, the tix prices need to be adjusted.

i live in LA and they have several mini season tix plans etc. that is HALF the price of the FACE VALUE! they also have promotions for buy 1 season tix, get another free

This website as well some others were "blacked-out" from his office (the entire office not just his). This I understand is part of the new internet policy around there. So basically he does not have time outside of his work hours to hop in and contribute (at least for now).

PS. This policy of blocking out or restricting access to certain website withing the work office network is not new one. It is in fact being under taken by many company in the USA even around the world.

Tim told me they were blocked from our site as well.

That does not mean he can not post at night though. Maybe he post through an alias.

This is exactly how I feel. I have no connection to the current team. This is why I am thinking of not buying tickets next year. I won't give up on the guys but if I wanted to throw money away I would go to a strip club!

No problem, man. I got roasted because of my hasty reply. I understand the arguments for not continuing to pay a lot of money to see this team live.

    Didn't mean to cause a sh*t storm. :D

Hopefully we can get back on track after the win yestrerday.

    Ahh excellent idea.... treasures....

anyhow, I'll chime in-- Sometimes I go to the games and just try and enjoy the food, and stare at the cheerleaders. You all are right that this team is one that we don't have any compassion for. Beyond the Tmac/spurs game, they have been content to give up and play worse when the going get's tough.

I know that even in painful losses, I'd still be watching the games with steve and cuttino. There was so much emotion, fire... This year, I've several times, missed a game only to see a box score the next day.

Anyhow, with many of you season ticket holders giving up your seats, I may just have to try and get a close-up seat for a game.. I mean, I've never been close enough to the floor that the players actually could hear me, or I could actually hear any of them.

It may take awhile; I see this team needing an energy starter who can bring emotion. Tmac is an amazing player, no doubt, but I think we need a mario elie, a cuttino mobley, someone with fire to atleast give the team some more personality. Tmac and Yao can continue to be the quiet superstars that they are.

    Seeya on the flipside.
