Right now my entire music collection is 334 mb... and I know I'll be collecting more music for years to come.... the thing is, i don't know which Ipod to get.. can you help me out? thanks a lot:D

I kinda don't wanna get the 20 GB ipod because it's heavier and also looks bulkier.. i don't think it can fit in my jeans pocket? will it be tight?

The mini would probably serve your needs. If you didn't get it for Xmas, wait until after January 10. Updates to all the iPods, and a possible FLASH iPod are expected to be announced on that day.

Even the larger 20GB ipod isn't that big. You can fill up the ipod mini really quickly. My sister just got one and filled up almost half the capacity in the first day. I'd go with the 20GB.

I don't know what either looks like - though my guess is that you'll have a new mp3 in 2-3 years anyway, so if you don't think you'll fill up the mini in that time, go for it.

My question is: for all you IPOD and MP3 lovers out there, where do you get your MP3's now. Does everybody still just download for free and try not to get caught? If not, is it more economical then to just buy MP3s online, or buy CDs.

Essentially, I'm trying to get into this craze...downloaded a lot when Napster first came out, but then stopped and haven't got back into it.

I dunno about anyone else, but I still really enjoy having Cd's. When I get a new Cd I put it straight onto my computer as a backup in AAC or MP3 form. I wish I could have been doing this years ago. I have so many hard to find albums that are all scratched up and won't play.

The Apple show is in San Francisco is January eleventh. They always announce updates and new product. No idea exactly what is coming out, but the mini and the regular (non-U2, non-photo) iPods haven't been updated in awhile, so it seems entirely likely.

I am sure there will be some surprises, but at a very minimum, a 5GB mini (at the same price) seems certain. Even if the prices on the new product are a bit higher, you will find the current-generation iPods and minis at a discount, as retailers clear out their stock in preparation of the new product.

coincidently, i am listening to the 20gb ipod right now (got from freeipods site, u should try that if u dont need one immediately) and honestly, i dont see how it could too big for your jean pocket. its about 4 by 2 inches. also remember, the 20gb is not music-only, u can put like madden and nba live on it to transfer to another computer.

Trust me, you want to spend the extra 100.00 bucks and get the 40 gb. I was debating on getting the 20 gb or a mini. It doesnt actually hold as many songs as it says. You have to convert them to a different quality, and its based on 4 minute songs. I just got mine this Christmas, so im still trying to figure out alot of things. I dont know if im doing something wrong or not, but Ive got 400 songs in my ipod so far and ive used up 3 gigs.
