Hey guys i know some of you enjoy to play No Limit Texas Hold'em but don't feel like dishing out all your money.

Just wanted to give you a heads up that we are holding free tournaments at Live every tuesday and thursday at 7 and 10 pm.

This is a league that has been going on for a while and they are coming into the texas market and have just joined up with hollywoodpoker.com

Basically if you make it to the final table in the tournaments during the week you get points based on where you finish that you can redeem for prizes and then enter yourself into their district tournaments for a lot more stuff like plasma tv's etc.

Just wanted to let you guys know so if you wanted to play to swing by and play for free and have fun....i have been playing each week and it's a lot of fun....

If you need more info you can check out, oh yeah your Clutchfans discount still applies =)

Yeah, we missed it last night, but we'll probably be able to make it next week. Hopefully MoBalls will go to as I've got some revenge to take. :D

You probably already heard about this, but the Yorkshire got raided the other night by the TABC.

I was just going to post the article that Ollie did.

If we can't get in trouble and those of us that suck are invited to play... I'd be down for Tuesday and Thursday next week (ahh, the joys of vacation!)

I've been going up to work to play with my colleagues everyday on my vacation and I keep losing money!!!

Since it's a free entry, I'm pretty sure there is nothing illegal about what Stack24 is doing.

I cannot believe we haven't made it back over there. We will soon, though.

I'm so lucky I didn't make it to that tourny because I've been going up there the past 3 weeks. It's a shame that the bars are getting raided. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Actually, that was what happened at the other place that got raided. The proprietor said it was a free tourney with all the money distributed between players. Like a pool or darts tourney.

But the r****ded cops said because poker is "a game of chance" it was still illegal because it was "in a public place".

    Such a stupid ass law.

Technically, poker in any establishment is considered illegal.

The poker game that was raided wasn't "free". It was for real money it's just that the house didn't receive a cut. That's legal at your house but not legal in a public place.

The tourney mentioned here is, the way I understand it, totally free. It doesn't cost you a dime to enter but you don't win money either. You just get points that you can redeem later for prizes.

Hey Stack, I'm launching a poker website in February. If you have some sort of press release and/or photos, I'd be more than happy to help you promote this league.

Do you help run the league or is your participation mostly confined to hosting the games?

Our website also has a directory of live places to play poker, we can list you there too. Email me if you're interested.

Yeah I made sure i talked to all my TABC agents before agreeing to do this deal with the company. They have been doing tourneys like this in Dallas and Austin for a while with no problem.

There is no money involved to play and you don't win anything at the end. It's basically playing poker with chips against everyone for bragging rights at the end of the night.

Your not allowed to even place money on the table to pay for your drink because it can cause a problem.

A lot of these places that have been busted bascially say they are doing it for free but they go ahead and take an entry fee from all the people and keep it under the table. You can have a tournament like we have as long as no money what so ever is involved.

The points that you accumulate can get you prizes and entry into their regional tournament that gives away great prizes. That's the whole reason people come each week and to other venues to play.
