Is it me, or has anyone noticed that we keep bringing guys from crap teams from the east. Orlando, NY, Atlanta...what's Dawson thinking?

Oh well, I'm a die hard rocket fan, and I do think this move is good. It's just weird that we're bringing guys into our team from not so great teams...

    EC, no it doesn't.

Like the move. Hope it makes an impact. And I REALLY hope there was substance to the Nene rumors.

Yeah me too. Denver still hasn't aquired a SG. That's a good sign, right?

Seeing a person in a Rockets uniform hitting an open jumper will be most refreshing.

this was an excellent move, one I thought the Rox shold have done instead of signing Ward. Next up Juwon for a bag of chips

Jon Barry is like Sura, i've seen him be pretty emotional on the court and that's what we need. Since the stats are almost identical to Lue's we have to look beyond stats or even individual performance. Does he hustle? Does he play hard every minute he is in? Does he motivate players around him? Does he make other players better (ie better post passing, high bball iq making fast breaks a lot more efficient, etc..) These are the things that we should be worrying about more than his scoring, afterall, how many points do we expect out of him? 5ppg? 6? 7? This trade makes us better. Shoot, just by being able to feed Yao in the post effectively would probably give yao +3 more easy looks than with Lue.

I thought Lue is a decent back up for us especially he can keep up with quick pg like parker, hudson or nash. But it seems we are not at the same league with those contenders and we have AB now, so it may be a good trade for us. The only problem is we seem to have some kind of "disease" that make the shooters cant shoot. So hopefully Jon would be immuned to this "disease".

I don't care how Jon Barry will impact on our team.
But I love that I don't need to see Lue any more!!! That's great enough!
I've been too tired to watch he ruin our games!!!

First it was Francis and Mobley are too stupid to lead us anywhere so we get T-Mac. Then we get T-Mac and start off slow and claim Bob Sura is the savior. Now Job B is the savior. Who's next? Karla Malona I wanna bona young latinas? I have come to accept the T-Mac deal as I see how GREAT the guy is but JVG NEEDS to go. It's obvious these guys are tuning him out and don't wanna play for the guy. It's hard to wanna battle night in and night out for a guy that doesn't stick up for you but gets down on his knees to praise other teams' players. He's a great DEFENSIVE minded coach but is wasting T-Mac.

It is all about chemistry, and Jon Barry is a great addition as a chemistry player.

Unselfish, smart, hustles, changes the energy of the team....put him, Barrett and Boki as the 2nd unit and watch them fly.

Imagine seeing Jon Barry, Ryan Bowen, Scott Padgett, and Bob Sura out on the floor at the same time. All hustle guys with limited skills. They may not score much, but there will be bodies flying all over the place. Pure pandemonium for the opposing team.

Hehehe. My buddy and I were making alternate-gender comments about Lue just last night.

[me] Wow, look at her try to play D. That's so cute.

[mike] Y'know, she's pretty quick ... for a chick. Must not be retaining water right now.

[mike's g/f] I think she'd look nice in a yellow sundress. Better than in that five-sizes-too-large basketball outfit

[me] Stephanie, guys do not wear 'oufits'; they wear clothes or uniforms. That's it. But you're right; on her, it's an outfit.

Facing a 39-43 Record, JVG segregates the basketball court.

Man, as long as they go in, I don't give a crap if he sacrifices a live chicken in a voodoo ritual at half court before each game.

If they go in, eccentricity can be overlooked. Hell, we had that whackjob Maxwell for six years. I totally loved the guy as a Rocket, but he was a loaded gun with a hair trigger.

You never knew whether he'd shut down the greatest player in the game, get six fouls in forty-six seconds, drop in 30 pts in a quarter, go into the stands after a fan, lead the league in 3s made in two seasons (something only four other players have done), or get pistol-whipped and robbed in the Fourth Ward trying to score some rock.

Vernon was ... a character who could at times be a badass basketball player. Jon Barry is a good, solid, dependable basketball player with character.

    I like the trade.
