Ok, I just got back, and the show was already on at 7:10
    here is what I got

    ......

    * I missed this callers "?"*

JVG:As a GM Carol is going to try to improve the team, but to look for a miracle, your on the wrong horse.
Our spacing is based on our shooting.
Everyone doubles Yao and t-mac off our 4s or 1s.
Right now we dont have good answers because we dont shoot the ball well from those positions right now.

Caller: *Complaining about Yao's goaltend call*, Tyrone Lue missed 4 open shots, do you think Sura can get more minutes, he hit some shots.

    Lance: What about Charlie Ward.

JVG: Charlie is good, he hasnt been practicing with us. Last night Sura had a bad foul that hurt us so I took him out.

Host: I want to get your take on LeBron and how he progressed.
    (Damage control question)

JVG: He has great speed strength and intensity for his age, it grows each month he's in the NBA. He is the prime reason CLE is doing so well. Last year they traded Miles for Mcginnis, and it changed their whole season around. This year McGinnins is playing well again. They continued their growth and improvement because they have very solid PG play.

Lance: WHen management got rid of Davis they didnt want to have bad apples around LeBron. It was addition by subtarctiuon. I compare him to Duncan, Bird, Magic.

JVG: Getting the right Chemistry in the NBA where teamwork is required is critical to your sucess, and i think right now CLE has it.
You got to give coach Silas credit.

Lance: Are you surprised about Snow arguing with Silas?

JVG: Snow is a great competitor and so is Silas, they were momentarily clashing, I dont think they will have any problems down the line.

Lance: YOu got some time off during the Holidays. Are you looking forward to watching Kobe vs. Shaq.

JVG: I dont look at it like that. Im tired of hearing about their relationship. I am going to watch my brothers team. They are doing really well.

Lance: Well, Im excited about the match up, you know Shaq is going to want revenge. Im also looking to see Dwane Wade step up.

Co-Host: Obviously your brother having Wade and Shaq, what do you think of how your bro brought that team together

JVG: The biggest move he made was putting Jones to PG and Wade to the 2. They also have a tremendous young PF that you need around Oneal. Eddie Jones has started playing better as late.]

Lance: You mentioned Jones, he's a shoot first guy. So is Dwane wade. Is that a function of having Shaq?

JVG: Last year they were much more Uptempo, this year with Shaq they post with Oneal and Pick and Roll with Wade. They have a good fit with the PF, and Jones has bounced around but he's a good fit for them.

Lance: You cant talk about Alonzo Mourning, but what do you think about Malone, do you think he would consider the Rockets.

JVG: That would be a ? for the GM, no one should mistake our lack of activity, that Les and Carol dont want to change the roster. Les lives and dies with every W and L. I dont think he is going to sit around with the poor quality of effort that we've given. He is going to become more pro active as the season unfolds. Mediocrity will not be tolerated.

Lance: Well we are going to let you go, we are glad you have some time off and have LAC at home Sun, and get to spend some time with the family.

    JVG: Thanks Guys Happy Holidays

    ___________________________________________________

More or less the interview moved away from the Rockets because of the depressing loss.
It sounds like JVG is ready to make a move.
The host think the Rockets will only be able to get 2nd teir players or bad contracts :(
JVG seems to know more about his brothers team than ours :(

Hate how Lance didn't bring up Barrett until AFTER JVG was gone. Spineless interviewing.

Thanks for taking the time to type up the recap for us, Gummi Clutch.

JVG: "They also have a tremendous young PF that you need around Oneal." , "They have a good fit with the PF"

These statements are very telling. You can sense how dissapointed he is in our PFs. Mo, Juwon and Clarence need to go, but the sad part is nobody in the league wants them.

Udonis Haslem is a good young PF. He is a nice "active body" down there. Gives you rebounds, can hit the medium range jumper from time to time and scores on put backs. Yesterday with Shaq out of the lineup he put up 17pts and 16rbs. Nice!

We just dont have a young PF to compliment Yao.

610 has completely turned into a bunch of ass kissers since they started broadcasting the Rockets and Texans. There is to much a of a conflict of interest b/w the hosts and the local teams. I like to listen to somewhat unbiased opinions on the radio, not what is essentially a branch of the front office for the local teams.

Listening to 610 talk Rox/Texans, is like listening to Limbaugh or Sean Hannity critiquing the Republican party.

    Hacks.

if he was - he was their free agent -

this is not a vaccum people - other teams are ALSO trying to sign players jus like the Rockets. And the heat had Shaq and Wade to offer (just like the rockets had Tamc and Yao)

Even if we had someone like Udonis Haslem JVG wouldnt play him.
He only has 1 year experience.
He would sit on the bench to rot with Barret.

I wouldn't say that is completely accurate. Have you ever listened to Matt Jackson after the games they lose?

    "Matt Jackson "

Fair point on Matt. He doesn’t seem to hold back.

The Morning and afternoon guys are a bunch of suck ups and apologists for the coaching staffs/players/front offices… The two shows are about as edgy as a bowling ball.

I wish I had the number I would like to call in.. when they prescreen me I would say "Yes I would to ask JVG about his plans during the playoffs - fishing or just relaxing?"

then when I get to JVG I would give him hell..

    1. why doesnt he give some younger players (Boki, AB) more PT? They play better than Cward, Lue, Mot, JHoward. They should be able to eat some minutes.

    2. what happened to the uptempo we had been seeing lately? back to slow, ugly JVG ball?

    3. what positions and players are our biggest weakness? put him on the spot?

    4. Do you feel Yao is going to resign w/ Houston? I've heard he isnt happy and may bolt after next season any ideas? (I dont know if thats true but im curious about how he will answer that)

hahaha put him on the spot but more interesting questions
    don ya cha tink?

No, Haslem wasnt a FA. He was a Heat 2nd round pick. Nice drafting!
I think he is in his 2nd year.

Famous last words, Gumby. You might want to start packing the suitcase now.

this is what pisses me off about JVG.. he see's other young players establish themselves somewhere (where they get a chance to play) and thinks wow I wish I had a playe like him. But doesnt try to develop his own young players .. ummm.. actually we havent had any new young players in some time.

I wouldn't say its as bad as the Hannity and Limbaugh example, but they are somewhat soft.
