I'm really interested to see how this poll shapes out. The advantage of the 610 crew is that they start their local show an hour earlier. Plus, the listener gets 2 minds instead of one. Plus, the 610 show has more fun games like the 6 pack at 4 and the 7 questions game (I forget the name). They conduct their show at the top and bottom of each hour. and finally, they get Glenn weekly and JVG sometimes in the afternoon. The advantage of Charlie's show is that the listener gets an obviously more un-biased mind who is a big time braniac that clearly knows his material in all major sporting areas. It's clearly a more informative show than the former. I was able to listen to both as I was working and driving home today for a couple of hours, and frankly, IMO, it's not even close. For those that honestly prefer Dull and Duller over Charlie Palillo, please explain.
Charlie in the afternoons is my overwhelming preference. I'm probably the only one in Houston who dislikes the contest games such as the 'sixpack at 4' or whatever. I always end up flipping until the contest is over and we can get back to sportstalk.
I like 1430 the best, but of the choices listed i would go with CP. Rich Lard is flat out horrible. I cant believe people listen to that clown.
Palillo has the whole world convinced that he is the authority on Sports knowledge. I would like to see him, Adam Wexler, John Harris, Richard Justice, Matt Jackson, and John McClain in a sports trivia battle royale. If the content was: Banal sports information and knowledge the winner would be Adam Wexler. Basketball knowledge and lore the winner would be Matt Jackson. Pro Football knowledge, lore, and inside info the winner would be McClain. Baseball anything the winner would be Justice. College Football the winner is John Harris. Charlie pawns off educated opinoins as knowledge, and he's good at it. He knows his stuff to be sure but he's not out there splitting atoms. He's holed up in his apartment reading online newspapers. Me? I prefer a guy I can knock a beer back with. But not this morning. No beer for me. F'n rockets...stupid drowned sorrows.
i don't change the channel, frankly. nothing about the programming on 790 ever encourages me to change the channel.
exactly. and hearing national media talk about sports...eh...i get enough of that on ESPN television. they ignore my favorite teams enough there!
I don't care if Charlie was up against a masterbating monkey, I wouldn't listen - down with Clear Channel!
