    Dear JVG,

Please leave, and take your Ward with you. After you left, we can play AB at PG position, and cut Lue. We can win some more games under the P. Jackson or somebody else.

    Charvo,

I am not disagreeing with you about JVG slowing the team down. If you go back to the games the Rockets won against Atlanta and Golden State they pushed the ball like crazy. This is an uptempo team with a control style coach. This is a good and bad thing, the good thing is when the coach learns to improvise his style to match his players. The bad thing is when the coach refuses to improvise his style to match his players and right now we are witnessing the bad part of this scenario.

Most championship team have 2 super stars and a lot of role players. If you look back at the Rockets 2 championship seasons they had great role players. At this point I don't think our role players really know their role. Actually I don't think our 2 superstars really know their role.

Agree. And to make matter worse Van Dummy puts Barrett on the IL and activates Ward.

Great post. It makes us feel a little better after this bitter loss. I'm especially pissed about putting Ward in during the third quarter. Actually, I am a little mad about signing him for a three year contract! One team's trash isn't always another's treasure, CD. I can't agree with you on MoT though. He shot some very nice jumpers. The thing I don't understand is, my friend, why Yao was taken out in the fourth?

Kinda hard to know their role when half of them keep going on and off the IR list.

JJ finally got his shooting going tonight but there were multiple possessions where he held the ball when Yao was staring him in the face on the postup. I don't know why JJ doesn't throw him the ball.

Andre Barrett would have been really nice tonight. The point guard position was just totally in favor of the Bobcats. Barrett would have at least gotten a few assists.

I was agreeing with your prior post. It's just sad to see JVG go away from what works.

I think his move of Barrett to the IL pretty much cemented that the old POS JVG is back.

Didnt read all the posts. But for those who blame JVG, how's he responsible for Yao's TO and players' failure to hit wide open shots?

By putting in players who will slow the game down thus allowing a quicker more athletic team to set it's defense and make it harder to score.

    How is that?

The move to put Barrett on the IL is JVG at his best. Barrett is a true pg and he should actually be starting.

Sura, is a 2 being put into a pg role. Basically Sura should be backing up T-Mac and Barrett.

True its not all JVG's fault but many of those players not hitting open shots are people he brought in. As a coach he should be well aware that we're not a good outside shooting team so defenses are collapsing on Yao and adjust to deal with that.

And Lue + Ward were a joke in the 3rd.

Anyone who has seen the Rockets before tonight's game knows that the Rockets going into the half-court offense contributes to Yao's TOs and the poor shooting by the Rockets. The offense does not have good shooters, and Yao is not proficient in having the offense run through him. This means the uptempo pace is preferred with Sura running down the floor with TMac being the primary scorer. Yao will be the secondary option when he gets good position for quick scores.

It worked in the Warriors' game. It should have worked again. It's not like the Bobcats are a killer defensive team. I saw right from the beginning a noticeable change in tempo.

JVG is the coach. He should put his players in a position to succeed and not fail. If the uptempo pace is working, keep going with it. He reverted back to slowdown mode which basically confused the heck out of everyone including the players on the court.

Lue and Ward being on the floor tonight may have been the worst backcourt in the NBA playing tonight.

NBA's Worst defensive team is the Bobcats

"McGrady had 25 points, nine rebounds, six assists and five steals. Bob Sura added 17 points and Jim Jackson 15 for the Rockets, who shot just 39 percent against the league's worst defensive team"

Man, can it get any worse than that?

    dragon167,

I would have to agree with DD

We need to play to our players strength and not their weakness.

Or as Bill Walton might say...

"Worst backcourt in the HISTORY of the NBA"
