I know you are sick of reading fire Jvg threads but I'm sick of reading all of the JVG excuses by his fans in these threads. How can you JVG lovers not see the man is just an average coach at best and he is not the coach for this team. Let's just fire the guy and be done with it. You Can Disagree all you want but the Rockets are lottery bound if we don't do something soon. We will never catch the Spurs, Wolves, Mavs, and Kings. We will also not catch the Sonics or the Suns in spite of some wishful dreaming by JVG lovers.

Fortunately for the Rockets, Kirilenko was injured or I would throw the Jazz in that bunch. You can throw out the Warriors and the Hornets and that leaves the Rockets competing with the Blazers, Lakers, Clippers, Jazz, Nuggets and Grizzlies for the remaining 2 spots. Clearly the Rockets are more talented than the rest of that bunch yet they are chasing more than half off those teams. With Yao and TMac on the team the Rockets or as underachieving team in the league as their is. Every article I read, every report I watch and every Radio DJ I listen to says the Rockets are a major dissapointment.

The blame for this disastrous start falls solely on the shoulders of our wonderful head coach and nowhere else! And please don't say the Rockets need time to gel with all the new players. That's just the biggest BS excuse of all. What about the Lakers or the Magic they have complete change overs in personnel (even moreso than the Rockets) yet they are winning. The rockets are playing their cushiest part of their schedule it only gets harder after this they should be vying for the 6th seed now and not fighting for their playoff lives.

I count less than a dozen games after December that should be easy victories and 2 of those are against Indiana which we lucked out in playing them before Jermaine Oneal returns. The Rockets will have to beat out 4 of the following 6 teams, Blazers, Lakers, Clippers, Jazz, Nuggets and Grizzlies. Is it possible, yes, they are in fact the most talented team of that bunch and they caught a break with Kirilenko's injury. But they will not win 50 games this year and they will likely be facing the Spurs or the Wolves in the 1st round if they do make it which will mean early exit in 4 games. This is just not acceptable for a team with Yao and McGrady on it. Jeff Van Dummy must go we must be rid of the cancer before he spreads his disease anymore.

I think alot of it is his fault, but I wouldn't put all the blame on him.I always like cd,but he has to shoulder some of the blame also.we need some more athletes around yao and t mac.

Couldn't this have gone in any of the other hundred thread of this ilk?

You are absolutely correct but it remains to be seen if Les agrees and if he does is he willing to make a change at this point in the season. Also are there any coaches out there that are available and better than Van Gundy? As you say he is mediocre ( I would say he is a good defensive coach but has issues with oiffense and mentoring young players) but is there actually someone better than can step in? if not I suspect Les will fire him after the season is over

Of course not. You know that every anti-JVG rant is good enough to be given it's own thread.

More chemistry..we have plenty of time in the future..we just need to get a change of scenery in our role player cast..for example..make some chagnes at the 4..maybe sign a guard to boost our offense off the bench..

The coach..i don't know maybe they just have gotten tired of listening to him even though what he's saying is important..but hmm we need to make open shots..and get rebounds..i'm still always gonna be a loyal rocket fan

Many of us are just as puzzled at how you came up with all your conclusions after 30 games. Espcially when we are seeing improvement every game.

then stop starting new ones and post this in one of the 15000 other threads. Some of us are interested in watching how this season unfolds and giving him more than 100 games (with a 60% turnover in personnel) before he make up our minds.

And btw Mr. Have-a-cow-the-sky-is-falling. As long as this team has 2 young star players we will be better off than half the teams in the league !

I think only TheFreak and Rocket River want that to happen. These new JVG-haters seem to think Phil Jackson will fix everything. Funny how we still have these threads while the last week we've been playing great offense and actually winning. Guess they will never stop.

JVG seems to be changing his ways. It seems to be coinciding with some heavy criticism of his style by the media and the fans. Even Charlie Ward mentioned that his New York style doesn't mesh with the current crew. I'd like to see reins taken taken off the team for the rest of the season rather than just a stretch of games.

There's something about the pace and hands-off style of the last few games makes me think it's anti-JVG. If it were Don Nelson at the helm, I would think it's just par for the course. It's not. We'll see. There's still plenty of games left.

Somehow, I sense a mid-season collapse for the sonics. Either due to an injury issue or collective shooting slump. We are 4 or 5 wins out of the 7th spot, and if Sonics does collapse, the 6th spot is reachable. Of course, we cannot afford to lose lesser team like Bobcats or Knicks anymore.

The funny thing is that Laker's fans are calling fire Rudy.

I think the SUns are for real (they have real depth and talent) the Sonics are just shotting the ball lights out. If they lose a player to injury or hit a shooting slump, they have no rebounders or inside help and they will falter. (I also think they caught some people off guard early in the season)

A 5 game losing streak for the sonics will do wonder for other playoff chasing team. Sonics is capable of pulling that off. :D

    Great thread.

    And right on the mark.

No need to wait out the contract of JVG to see what kind of a coach he really is....it is obvious that he is NOT a championship coach.

And, the players he has are not going to respond to his horribly over critical coaching style.

Willis please do not use that picture again, it is highly offensive to female fans. My wife saw it and thought I was on some p*rn site.

I guess Charlotte is one of those half the teams in the league that are better than us! How sad to lose to the expansion BOBCATS both times this year. The only road victory for this NBDL team and it's against our Rockets. If that doesn't convince you that the Rockets are pathetically underachieving and Jeff Van Moron must be fired then nothing will!

Oh by the way your picture is offensive and quit posting it and go **** yourself!

After this loss I am disgusted, but I honestly don't see how Yao turning the ball over 10 times or how no one on our team hitting a wide open shot is JVG's fault.

I find some of JVG's personell decisions (who goes on the IR...who get PT) a bit bizarre, but I don't think those decisions have made a big impact on the team's won-loss record. The bottom line is that this is a bad team. It's a team with two young superstars and NOTHING else.

We need a trade in the worst way. Speed and rebounding at the 4, a shooter at the 1, and a more athletic 3. We have just 2 NBA calibur starters and you just don't win that way.

You can't fix this team in just one year (the talent is that bad) but we need to make at least one move now so that a good offseason could put us back into contention next year.

Getting rid of JVG doesn't change any of that.
