Definitely. I think the media helps create the climate where some more casual followers of events would be likely to vote for curtailing thos civil liberties.

I don't think the media is doing it because they hate muslims or anything, it is the nature of the beast, and a story on who doesn't support terrorists wouldn't be that exciting.

Again the pack mentality of the media comes into play also. Once one media outlet picks it up, the others do the same. Then it seems like a big deal, whether it is or not.

 

The media is selling advertisement space. The reading pulbic want to believe that there is something up with Muslims; the media is giving the public want they want.

BTW, does anyone else recall that Muslims were initially blamed for OK city bombing? Clinton had the good sense to quickly make public statements that we had no idea who done it.
