I'm so tired of seeing Yao fight so hard for good position to see it wasted by Jim Jackson, Juwan Howard, Sura and others not pass it or wait too long...the Lakers had 5 guys who could zip that ball in at just the right moment...by my count the Rox have about one, TMac, but unfortunately he's our designated shooter.

Granted Yao had some turnovers in this game, but some were for traveling..he was only stripped when making aggressive moves...STILL..he showed he was a huge mismatch inside once he got the ball. He showed flashes of dominance this game, but was not given the ball nearly enough, and you could see his frustration. This game would not have gone to OT had we established Yao with some easy passes.

I don't know how many times I saw JJ just stare at a wide open Yao with good position and just wait too long to get it inside...what the hell is VG doing...teach these guys how to pass, and if it's a problem of willingess then get those guys the hell out of Houston!

Yao should shoulder some of the blame himself. Everytime he
receives the ball he's thinking "pass 1st, shoot 2nd". How about
making a quick freaking move to attack the basket? His
indecisiveness is killing himself as well as the Rockets.

uh, did you watch this game???...he went to the hole IMMEDIATELY after getting the ball time after time. It was as if he said to himself, F** this...if these guys won't pass it, I'm just going straight to the rack every time!

I couldn't agree with you more beyao. I was arguing with someone the other day about that crap. It seems they are staring at him then just swing the ball on the other side. Its crazy. Also, I think these guys need to stop passing the ball the low. I have counted so many low passes. The guy is 7'6". You are gonna have to throw it a little higher than normal.

I think they just can't simply make a good inside pass. I mean good over-the-opponents-head-a-la-Horry-to-Dream kinds of passes. You dump it in like that you also let the center get into a better groove. By just slowing the pass down or giving him a bounce pass, you're putting at a more awkward position.

yeah lue can't ..jimmy uhh he turned it over 2 times in a row trying to force it in. damn what happened..see posey was good with yao..griffin remember he could pass it right to yao from the top of the 3 point line right into yaooooozilla.

imo jimmy is just like too slow now. i love it when jimmy makes shots..and like off the pick jump shots..but uhh lol. i don't know i'd rather have him as a backup..and an athletic young small forward who can shoot..someone like posey but maybe stronger and not as erratic? actually posey would be great..with tmac..damn...and sura...but okay our power forward definitely needs help. marshal lcan provide rebounding i hope we get him. he can shoot too i think. he's rather small though and definitely will not save us. he's getting old too right? well we're not gonna get him so whatever. forward spots need some change. i remember i wanted kukoc..haha he's like 50 now. he woulda been good..not on defense though..if we had ben wallace with kukoc and yao and tmac and sura lol.

just admit it, yao doesnt has faith in himself which lead to his indecisvise when he get the ball and yao's teammates just dont trust yao once he has 2TO in a row or yao missed 2shots in a row!!!!

I cant agee with you beyao, yao ming had 6 freaking turn overs. He turns the ball over almost half the times he gets it.

Yup, Yao had too many TO tonite. But the guards also passed the ball too low. It seemed as if the guards couldnt remember Yao is 7'6".
Lue didn't know his role. I like Barrett to play.

half those turnovers were BS...the traveling calls were jokes..Ewing used to walk WAY more than that, as did Olajuwon. The offensive hook call was a joke also...Yao did extend a bit, but he made no contact with the defender and dervied no advantage as a result...that's a no-call.

The point is the ROX need to take advantage of Yao's mismatch inside way more consistently...and it does not appear as though we have the players who are able or willing to do that.

Gasol uses that move alot, his hook is much more balatant, but never gets called. Tim Ducan too. Yao for some reason is picked on for this one by the refs. It's funny for some games, they just dont call it, and some they call it on him all the time. Need to check if the same crew call it on Yao.
Yao lowers shoulder, boom offensive foul.
Turn around shoot over, offsensive foul for the elbow.
This is just ridiculous. Yao just dont know what to do down low but tries to shake his man, then called traveling.

It's hard getting the ball into Yao. The typical defender is usually much quicker than Yao and can knock the ball away before Yao can get a good grip. I would probably try to figure out some way to fix this problem first before I get new players to throw the passes in.

Unfortunately you are right. If Yao starts to struggle then his teammates start to look else where for offense (outside of T-mac we have no other offense) and thats when we have trouble scoring. Yao needs to gain more confidence in himself and his teammates need to gain more confidence in him as well.

I wouldn't say it's hard, but it does take execution and a certain alertness that our players are simply lacking. Yao is not going to be able to pin his defender forever in the paint...but too often he does have his man contained yet does not receive the ball in time because JJ or someone else is just staring at him, almost as if he's waiting for the defender to come around so that he can't make the pass.

Van Chancellor has commented about this problem countless times already this season. It's quite easy to spot and extremely frustrating because we're essentially losing out on a hanful of points a game by not dumping it into our highest percentage offensive option. I'd start with JJ's overated as**, and ship out anyone else who can't or won't make a simple pass. If Yao was not able to do anything with it in the paint I wouldn't mind the sticky fingers of JJ and others, but since he's been showing how much of a force he can be down there, we've got to get him the ball...

Yao is not the 2nd option, neither the 1st.

He has been the 5th option for the last 2 games, what is JVG thinking?

Thw rule of thumb is: pass Yao 4 times, if he does not not make at least 2, then "that's it for you tonight. No more touches".
