"God Save the Queen" by the Sex Pistols. I thought Johnny Rotten had some of the coolest hair in Rock history! ------------------ Bring It!!
As much as I love to Sex Pistols, they're considered a punk band, not a hair band. They did have some kick ass hair, though. Great topic, R95. How do you expect me to narrow it down, though? LOL. "Smooth Up in Ya" Bulletboys "Don't Know What Ya Got (til it's Gone)" Cinderella "Don't Treat Me Bad" Firehouse "To Be With You" Mr. Big "Down Boys" Warrant "Nothin But a Good Time" Poison "Talk Dirty to Me" Poison "Still of the Night" Whitesnake Motley Crue, Skid Row, Def Leppard, Scorpions, Twisted Sister, and Bon Jovi, I do not consider hair bands. ------------------ "The only problem is I always think of the guitar player from Dokken when I hear his name." -Traj, on the possibility of George Lynch joining the Rockets.

TheFreak, I don't consider Whitesnake to be a "hair band". If you ever have a chance to listen to "Love Hunter", DO! It is my favorite album of theirs. It's not what you'd expect when you hear the name "Whitesnake". I wasn't a big "hair band" fan anyways. I really despised bands like: Poison, Nelson, Warrant, White Lion, etc. I also don't consider: Motley Crue, Ratt, Scorpions, or Skid Row to be hair bands. Def Leppard was "sorta" a hair band, but Bon Jovi definitely was. ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem. DREAMer's Rocket Page
Should have said glam band instead. ------------------ I am the founding member of the Butt-Nekkid Party! White House here we come!
DREAMer -- you're right, Whitesnake probably isn't a hair band. Cinderella either, for that matter. Like you apparently, I have a fairly limited definition of the term "hair band". I think the term was originated to be derogatory, but some bands like Poison actually embrace it, which is pretty cool and helps take away some of the stigma. Def Leppard was actually part of the "New Wave of British Heavy Metal", back in 1980 or so, which also included bands like Judas Priest and Motorhead, so they're actually not a glam or hair band, as they pre-dated the genre by quite a while. Also, I consider Bon Jovi to be a pop band, not a hair band. Their new stuff is actually doing very well on the charts, and they're back on MTV again. Being a Whitesnake fan, did you ever get to check out the CD David Coverdale made with Jimmy Page ("Coverdale/Page")? It's pretty cool stuff. ------------------ "The only problem is I always think of the guitar player from Dokken when I hear his name." -Traj, on the possibility of George Lynch joining the Rockets.
TheFreak, Are you going to start a thread that illustrates the different genres in the Rock category? How many unique headings are there before somebody is just splitting hairs in classifying bands?
