I think the only player we could possibly get is Mike Miller and/or Jason Williams from Memphis, although I do believe the Czar and JVG are good friends so you never know. Possibly Swift, but I'm sure they'll want a first rounder, which I would still do as long as its not this years or next. We need youth in the worst way.

Mo/Howard, Boki and a 1st (2008) for Swift and Miller.
Boki becomes a free agent after this year.
Swift they'd probably lose for nothing this offseason.
Miller isn't getting much PT so replacing him for Boki makes sense.

true. the raptors are loaded at the wings.

marshall might leave at the end of the year since he isn't playing much now. they might actually want a PF in return to fill his spot in the rotation. also, alvin williams has been hurt and the only PG they have is alston who is in the dog house right now. they might be interested in lue as a backup and any of our PF's.

Lue has some value to teams since he comes off the books at the end of the season and can play 20 mins a night in the NBA as a backup PG.

    Lets trade:

    MoT for Elton Brand.

    Lue for Jason Kidd.

    Nachbar for Rashard Lewis.

I believe those trades are very fair for both sides... so CD needs to get it done..... and if CD really wants to continue the trading frenzy,.. we should trade:

Howard for Lebron James (so lebron can come off the bench)

    any takers????

These seem to be pipe dreams. Don't see how it makes Memphis much, if any better.

That said, I'd jump all over it. I'd also take Jason Williams off thier hands - he's erratic, but seems to have matured somewhat and is exciting. I'd take any package of Williams, Swift, Miller or Battier for anything but Yao & TMac.

But as has been mentioned, the Grizzlies & Jerry West have built their squad to (1) try to be competitive (worked for a year) and (1a) to flip multiple above average players into on all-star level player, which they wouldn't be getting from us.

I think Kwame is a risk worth taking. He definetely not figuring in the plans of the Wizards with the acquisition of Jamison. He was just suspended for a game for "conduct detrimental to the team" for not joining in for a team huddle. Not exactly sure when/where this huddle was but it seems much to be suspended for a game like that. He needs a change of scenery big time. If anyone has read the new book on Jordan's last years in dc you'd realize MJ was a total jerk to Kwame and it probably took a toll on him. Being the first #1 HS pick probably was a lot of pressure to live up to to begin with and then having arguably the greatest player to play the game on your back each and every day was too much.

CD should make a push to get Brown via the FA market (if we can get him for the MLE) or at least in a trade preferably sending Taylor or Howard to DC. But since Kwame is still on his rookie contract maybe sending them the TE to save money and send Lue back to DC may be enough for the Wizards who seem to be extremely fed up with him. I think DC is more fed up with Brown than the Bulls are with Curry or Chandler.

Of course I'd prefer to get Eddie back I never wanted him gone from the team like some of the folks here. Good to see him playing well in Minn. Any idea if he has a 1-year deal with them?

Another idea to look into depending on his development is Ndubi Ebi. Minn drafted him right out of hs last year. He wont see any minutes with KG and Eddie there in front of him. He was regarding as a high, possible lottery pick but still "raw." He commited to the draft at the last minute after a verbal agreement to go to Arizona. I dont think he seen a minute of on-court action to be honest but if he is going to just waste away in Minn I think we should make a push for Ebi for the TE. Minn is looking for any sort of cap relief right now they may do it. I havent heard anything out of their camp on their opinion of Ebi.
Ebi is also a Texas boy. 6'9 200lbs athletic body.

    How about this....

    - the rockets play finish out the season with the team we have (exepct if we can dump a few bad contracts [i.e. MoT]).

    - if we do not make the playoffs, so what,.. we should get a good draft pick.

    - in the off season, sign Joe Johnson... because the suns said that they do not want to resign him after this season... and he will be an unrestricted free agent...

    - and if we have enough cap room,... go after somebody that can come off the bench an rebound....

** there,... the solution to the rockets problem: Joe Johnson... that would give us a solid young nucleus to build around... at the 2,3,and 5 (with johnson or mcgrady playing the 3).... and maybe draft a point guard.... but, i kind of like barrett... so maybe go for a power forward... but we already have an over abundance of those....

If we end up in the lottery, and Felton is on the board, take him! Id not I say we go after a PF. The people I think about still being on the board are Ronny Turiaf and Sean May (Zach Randolph II). I also like Daniel Ewing in the 2nd round! the 2005 draft will have alot of players that can produce immendiately unlike the 2004 draft that had like a dozen HS kids taken. I say we shouldn't make a trade if we have to give up any of our draft picks.

We have an overabundance of SUCKY power forwards. Let's solve that first. The Lue for Kidd stuff's tired by the by. We get that kind of wit three times a day around here.

Yeah, you're right. Drink got the better of me. Edited now. I have my pet peeves, but that's not that guy's fault. He's new.

While I'm here Sam, will you be in Houston for the holidays? If so, check my darts invitational in the Hangout.

what really gets me is that there is no news at all, not even a rumor about us looking to trade or being close to a trade.

its driving me freaking crazy! can something happen already? i'm like a dog waiting in anticipation for the food dish to be placed on the ground, and i won't stop running in a circle or mouthing off till i get it.

I suspected as much but I did not want to cast aspersions.

Alas my folks are coming up north for the holidays so I'm not back in H-town for a while, but thanks though.
