I also think the city of Houston is now waning in the support of Yao. Mo is now scorned as the worst power forward in the NBA. Fan support is near an all-time low for these 2 guys. Les can make this trade without many people being upset.

    C Mihm
    PF Juwan
    SF Odom
    SG TMac
    PG Sura

I really hope this trade goes through.

First and foremost, none of this banter is likely. Second, Odom is trash as a return for Yao. The factors that went into the O'Neal deal are not the same factors that would be in a deal that would include Yao.

    Get realistic.

Van Gundy (first) and Dawson (second) will be fired and the rest of the team outside of TMac will be traded before Yao gets traded.

I've listened to 610. I don't think most Houston fans would care if Yao is traded. Think about the resentment he would engender if Yao were to ask for max money. Yao to the Lakers would eliminate that potential sticking point since it would be the Lakers who would be giving Yao the max contract which would definitely be worth it in that marketplace and with the demographics of southern California. I suggest parting ways.

Charvo, I have never liked the term YOF being thrown around on the board here. But I kind of agree with the people who label you a YOF in this thread. You want Yao to be traded so he can flourish in a better system. So you suggest Yao for Odom and Mihm. What??? Yao for Odom and Mihm??? You want the Rockets organization to be the laughing stock around the league for the next 20 years???

I agree with most of your statements, except the part regarding Jackson. He is one of the worst 3 in the league and THE worst third option among all the contenders:
    3rd Option list

Kings: Bibby or Miller(after Webber and Peja)
Spurs: Ginobli or Parker(one is 2nd and the other 3rd)
Wolves: Wally or Sprewell (after KG and Sam)
Lakers: Butler (after Kobe and Odom)
    Pistons: Rasheed/Prince(after Hamilton, and Billups)
Suns: Nash( after Amare and Marion)
    .......

Hey, JJ is not even close to any of the above.

This team sucks and will continue to suck until they fired Van Gundy and his NY Cronies and get a real coach with a idea about how to score some points. A freaking defensive team with a defensive scheme that can even play a lick of defense. This is a damn joke!

Hey, the Lakers traded Shaq for essentially Odom and Butler. Look at the attendance at Rockets' games. The Rockets are currently at the rock bottom in totem pole of Houston sports. They might be worse than the Aeros now. The Rockets need to shake it up. Making matters worse would be to hang onto Yao and Mo, have Yao demand max money, and then seeing the team fall into a pool of continuous lotteries since it doesn't look like Yao is progressing at all under JVG. Mo is also a big ass anchor on the payroll under JVG.

I'm almost afraid to ask; but what on earth makes you think that Odom and Mihm is an adaquate return for Yao Ming?

What did Doc Roberts say? I think he mentioned Odom for Yao in one of his prior posts. I'm just presenting ideas for the consumption of whoever reads it. If the Rockets' management does decide to go for the deal, I will be satisfied.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING, RIGHT?!!!

That is one of the WORST lineups I have ever seen! You say we need to trade Yao because he is so bad, yet we get freaking Mihm as a starter in return!! WHAT A JOKE!!! If this ever happened, TMac should have just stayed in Orlando to keep winning 15 games a season cause that's all that would EVER happen with that roster!

Those that want to trade Yao, go pick up a book on the history of the league and see what has been THE MOST winning formula for all these years. Or, better yet, go back to playing your ESPN 2K5 or NBA Live, make you goofy trades like that and go undefeated on the easiest level because that's the ONLY place it will work!

Trading Yao Ming would be the BIGGEST mistake in the history of the franchise and in the league, especially if your trading him to conference finals.

Charvo- if you really think people wouldn't be upset if we traded Yao for Odom/Mihm/1st round pick, then you are a complete idiot.

No, he didn't. If you're going to attribute words to someone, be ready to back it up.

Sure Odom for Yao was thrown around...before draft night.

I believe the great foot-in-mouth Cuttino quote was..."with Odom running the break, and me and Steve on the wings...it's over."

    Get over yourself, please.

I too would be worried like Sam Fisher and ther rest of you if I could not foresee what Spanoulis(PG) and Badiane(PF) will bring to next years ball club. Those guys are going to turn out to be Horry and Cassel like draft picks when its all said and done.

Of course you will because that means you can drive to the Staple Center and hump Yao's leg at every Laker home game

Can Yao ask to be traded if he think Houston is not a good place for him? Then everyone is happy, then TMC will be a target for a trade talk soon, then.......
