Actually, synergy, I know you're kidding, but it's like the following, over the last 15 years: Sharks -- lost half of their entire world's population Humans: lost about 20 or so people total to shark attacks. We're winning in a blow out. Interesting story, KC. Thanks! I had a lot of fun about a month ago at the Monterey Aquarium, watching their captive white shark swim around in the giant "outer bay" tank with these huge tuna all around her. I just sat there for about three hours watching her -- amazing.
I wasn't aware that makos got that big. When I saw Deep Blue Sea, I thought there was no way makos could be as big as they were in that movie.
how long was the shark? sure it is large, but i am sure i have seen pics of some caught in aussie waters and also skeletons much larger at museums
What's the uproar about them catching the shark? They'll probably be eating shark fin soup and grilled shark for awhile. You can feed alot of people with that thing.
Killing animals is funny, eating the dead animals you killed is funnier, but religion? Man, that's the funniest of all.
i do not understand the idea of going out to sea to engage these animals in any meaningful way, other than looking at them from a very, very far distance. that's a fight i'd rather not pick.
They are very closely related species. Makos are typically a little smaller and sleeker than great whites, so if this story is real and if that's a mako (looks like one for sure), then maybe it is a record *mako* but not a record white shark. Oski, here's a link to the captive shark: white shark
