    Well said.

Tmac and Yao are not the 1s to blame. It's the rest of our sorry team. No one guards any of our other players when Yao and Tmac has the ball. The result is there are 3 players guarding Yao and Tmac everytime they have the ball. When they kick it out like they should, we get brick after brick after block after turnover after brick. The rest of the league knows this, we ain't foolin nobody.

We also picked a wrong night to try to push the tempo. lol. Against the Mavs. lol. I almost wish Tmac didn't pull that superman act against the spurs. I hope we don't try anything like that ever again against mavs, kings, suns, sonics. We've got to make them play our game. There is no way we can beat their game. How many transition points did the mavs get tonight? That's another thing, our sorry role players couldn't get back on D. We push, miss, fastbreak layup mavs. We've got to slow the game down until we find some shooters. I don't really care if we temporarily waste Tmac's transition talents.

*lol*..He's stupid because his opinion is different from your's?

Now, as for him just "automatically throwing out" his 7-10 picks...you do realize that (8.) Ray Allen has been consider by MANY as the league's front-runner for the MVP award so far, right;(9.) Steve Nash has been THE BEST PG in the NBA this early in the season; (7.) Wade has probably been the best PG in the East; and (10.) Francis has arguably been the East's second-best PG behind Wade, leading his team to the Conference's best record early on, when not many people expected that squad to do be this good...I certainly didn't.

And he awarded winning. The four players in question are on teams with a combined record of 61-10.

I don't agree with all of his picks (some of the players and/or their order), but I don't think you can call it a terrible list.

For the sake of this argument, my TOP 10:

    1.) Garnett
    2.) Duncan
    3.) O'Neal, S.
    4.) James
    5.) Bryant
    6.) Nowitzki
    7.) Allen
    8.) O'Neal, J.
    9.) Wade
    10.) (probably) McGrady

Next group (no order): Francis, Nash, Marion, Artest, Webber, Pierce, Stoudemire...Yao (damnit, he should easily be in the TOP 10, though, it's a shame! :( )...and Kidd (when healthy).

The first six players should pretty much be on everyone's list, IMO -- the order of each will vary. After that it got a little tougher. Ray Allen has been the best player on the best team in the best conference so far this season. Jermaine O'Neal, though suspended, is still the East's best post player and can hold his own vs. any of the PF's in the West; he was the Eastern Conference's MVP last season. Wade, surprisingly, has been the Heat's best player this season. A lot of that, obviously has to do with the Big Fella, but he's avg. 24-5-7 while shooting over 50% from the field on a winning ball club. McGrady, while having a somewhat difficult start to the season, would've been too glaring an omission for me. I mean, the guy who just last year led the league in scoring and could torch anybody's as* up for 30+ points with ease hasn't fallen off that much. But, I must admit, it is hard to say a guy is a TOP 10 player when the team he plays for isn't even in playoff contention, for a second straight season.

Clove, you're right on. We can't play up-tempo with a team like Mavs, they will run you to death.

The funny thing is that the Mavs are one of the worst defensive teams in the league. It's pathetic.

What's funny is how Dallas (i live there) commentors were perplexed at our play and coaching decisions.

They were suprised to see Yao sit so long in the first half. Dampier had three fouls, Bradley had three fouls and sat, then a little while later, Yao sat. It wasn't until almost the end of the first half that he brought Yao back, and that's when we cut it nine.

When McGrady was out there, essentially alone, all Dallas did was keep it out of his hands in the half court, because nobody else can shoot. More and more teams are starting to do this, and it's catching on quickly.

I can take a loss, even a blowout loss, but when you beat yourself, that's when it becomes rediculous.

    12th in points allowed
    5th in OPP FG %
    1st in OPP 3 FG %
    5th in steals
    10th in blocks
    4th in defensive rebounding

The Mavs may still not be a "great" defensive team, but you should really refrain from making such blatantly incorrect statements.

lol at the guy who thinks Yao will get traded before Tmac. As long as Yao wants to stay, les will trade his kidneys before trading Yao.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. Yao was eating Dampier AND Bradley for breakfast and then he sits. Derek Harper was especially pointed in his remarks about the Rockets' strategy. The sad fact is that teams now have a book on the Rox: collapse about Yao with double & triple teams and force the ball out of McGrady's hands and watch the Rockets struggle to score points.

A top 5 player wills his team to victory period. No matter who youre teammates are, who youre coaches are, no matter what the circumstances are, no matter how the hometown fans suck. You will ur team to victory. KG, TD, Kobe, Lebron and Dirk. These are the top 5 players in the game. A shade below them are Amare, Allen, Wade, J Oneal and Nash. Were talking here of the first 20 games or so. All came from teams with winning records. TMac, he belongs in the top 15 in the company of Steve, G Hill, Shaq and AI. No yao here. He doesnt get any love from me. Yao belongs in the top 30. Hes that bad right now. Rockets will not make the play offs. Believe that.

I like how you picked teams that were winning to pick out your top five that "will" their teams to victory. Nice insight. Teams that win have good players, teams that lose have bad ones. You should write for ESPN. They're always looking for writers who understand that good teams are good and bad ones are bad.

" No yao here. He doesnt get any love from me."

Yao will be sad to hear that.

"Yao belongs in the top 30. Hes that bad right now."

Have you been watching the last 4 games? Even the recent loss against Dallas? Although Yao shot 3-11, he did fight to get to the line more than anyone else and for that effort he was sat out for most of the 1st half. Brilliant JVG strategy once again. Lets blame players for a poor performance since they can't seem to get enough freethrows or rebounds from the sitting position offcourt. Damn that Yao.

"Rockets will not make the play offs. Believe that."

Now if only you put your brilliant analytical skills to use before the season started instead of halfway to the break. Way to go out on a limb there.

I'll make a bold and daring prediction too: The Seattle Supersonics will make the playoffs. Believe that.

its easy to discount his opinion since it doesnt fit with the facts of past seasons.....but.

He has a point.....Dallas USED to be a bad defensive team.....they arent great now...but to say they have ZERO D is incorrect.....they have gotten better this year in that area.

still no excuse for us allowing them to blow us out....we should have been able to keep it closer than that.

its gotta get better....I hope. :(

Whoops. I guess you gotta take KG out of your top 5 now since he couldn't even will his team to victory over the lowly Chicago Bulls.
