The final damage for Eddie Griffin in that game is 27pts (7-15 3ptrs) and 11 rebounds. Monster game for Griffin!
This whole Griffin situation could have been handled better by the Rockets. Eddie was the youngest player that we have ever drafted, and he should have had a support system for someone his age. I am not saying someone holding his hand everywhere he went, but he should have had a mentor. Minnesota had support for KG when he was drafted at 18 years old. These young players need guidance and veteran leadership. The Rockets didn't have enough support for Eddie. From what I understand, he's getting plenty of that in Minnesota. I hope the best for Eddie, but I really wish that he was a Rocket....
If EG ever becomes a 15-10 player, let alone a star, there will be eggs on the face of Rox management.
You Griffin lovers really need to let it go. If you are really Rocket fans, all this obsessing over him is going to cause you to, at the very least, have ulcers, but more likely something worse than that.
Well, hate to sound hard-hearted, but we don't need quitters on our team. As a matter of fact, if this scum ever comes back to the Rockets, I will start rooting for another team.
You go, Eddie! Here's one more great game by Eddie Griffin 18 points, 7 rebounds tonite against the Kings From ESPN " http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/recap?gameId=241210016
... Notes Griffin might be the early favorite for the league's Most Improved Player , averaging 11 points and seven rebounds after being out of the league for 17 months. Said Wolves coach Flip Saunders of Griffin, ``He's got a comfort level on the floor and off the floor.'' EDIT: Serious, you beat me to it!
He's been pretty freaking nuts off the bench for the Wolves. It's the "system". I think the reason there's so many articles, is because the Twin Cities media is just finding out what kind of gem they got. We'll see if the other shoe drops.
Touche, Freak but I think this past Thursday night sorta makes that point obsolete, if you know what I mean. Besides TMac never quit on the Rockets like Griffin did.
Wasn't John Lucas serving as a mentor for Eddie while he was with the Rockets? I don't think it's fair to assume the Rockets didn't have a support system in place for such a young player...
