He should have held on to the ball, been fouled, and tried a few free throws... (not that I would have preferred a different outcome...)

True, but you often see guys in similar situations playing keep-away to eat up some clock before the foul.

I know... besides, he's a young player... they make those kinds of mistakes... none of this matters. The night is all about defense and T-Mac...

The only thing that could have made this game better is if we were playing the Magic...

-EDIT- and John Wisebrogh(SP?) were in the front row..

I would take this over the Spurs any day. Only other teams I hate more are the Mavs and Lakers.

man, the recaps arent mentioning the play by padgett after the yao dunk.

that , to me, was the turning point. i actually started screaming at that point and didnt stop until the end.

    national tv. what a treat

I was at the game...wanted to head to the exits but decided since I got these really great seats right next to the tunnel I'll wait for Van Gundy to walk by and belittle him when he walks by. Tmac saved his ass yet again! Don't get me wrong I was f*in happy tmac hit those shots. Don't look too much into this win though. The Rox played lame boring ball up until the final minutes and the Spurs were off. This won't win playoff basketball games. what Tracy did was a miraculous miracle and I'm not gonna give myself false hope.

Look at Padgett running off the court. This is old hat for him. He's like, "Yeah, I've been here before. I came from 19 down to beat Duke in the 1998 regional final."

Did you see the look Popovich gave to Sager when he was about to start answering someone else's question? That was priceless.

A pleasant and welcome surprise tonight. I only saw the 1st quarter but I liked the energy on the court.

I think it was somewhere between the minute and a half to 2 minute mark, when Rox were down by 9, Gene was talking about how, if Houston didn't score again, it would be the record for the lowest Rocket point total in a game.

    Amazing.

A friend of mine got free tickets to this game from 610. He called me to go, but I was out of town.

    :(

...and I love how the middle pages of this thread are the guys bashing T-Mac, about how he is a poor shooter, can't shoot threes, and can't will us to a win.

    Priceless.

The first 3 quarters were very exciting quarters when you focus on the defense aspect, not statistical defense but defensive intensity. Without that first half defense none of this would have been possible. Next game look at how hard it is for the other team to get off shots or how quickly the help D gets on his man, it's amazing to witness this defensive intensity work so well. This was a very exciting game, other than the beginning of the 4th quarter when our defense and offense weren't clicking.
