Atlanta Trade?? Atlanta is wanting to move A.Walker before the deadline because he has expressed not resigning after this (final)year. They feel that they won't be able to lure free agents there, so the only way to get them is via trades. They obviously won't be able to get top tier players, but are willing to settle for decent players. BTW, their PF are Jelani McCoy and Chis Crawford (who stays injured). So I propose............a trade.....(please, go easy now)........... A.Walker for MoT and filler (Weatherspoon) I know Walker takes alot of shots and all, but I'd do it if it was only for the remainder of the year. He played well with Pierce as a tandem and right now we are sorely lacking offense. His 22 ppg could give us a significant boost, and he is a good passer at 3.6 apg. Also, this would change up the mirror type players we have at PF. Tone could give us more of a running style team when Yao rests. We'd clear up a HELL of alot of cap space, too. Mo has 2 years left after this one and Clearence has one so it's not too bad of as commitments goand we all know Mo is usually money to about 17 feet so that'll help clear the paint for their guards. All in all, we may not be their first option, but might make the most sense of all the offers they're gonna recieve. And if our scoring woes continue, I think most posters won't complain that much.
Dang, I though a trade had gone down. Just a proposal...here are some stats to work with Mo Taylor 2004-05 Statistics PPG 7.9 RPG 5.1 APG 1.9 SPG .58 BPG .47 FG% .410 FT% .690 3P% .429 MPG 26.7 Antoine Walker 2004-05 Statistics PPG 21.9 RPG 8.8 APG 3.7 SPG 1.24 BPG .53 FG% .426 FT% .510 3P% .320 MPG 41.0 http://www.nba.com/playerfile/antoine_walker/index.html
U know. . this maybe the ONLY MO TAYLOR TRADe I would turn down A Walker has been traded more than intel stock and for good reason If you think Mo T is a softPowerForward Antoine makes him look like a fricking Iron Man we do not need a Chucker who plays no defense and doesn't rebound This is the WRONG direction Rocket River regrettably. . this sounds very CD like about now ok . .that was wrong
I'd do it, not to get Walker, but just to get rid of Mo's contract. I'd cut Walker right after trading for him.
Not going to happen. You dont trade a player with an expiring contract for a soft PF who is a salary albatross.
I think a better trade would be for Aaron Williams. We can send Mo Taylor or Juwan Howard. However, I don't think Bruce Ratner will do that trade because of monetary reasons. He's cost-cutting. We need a power forward in the same cut as Antonio Daniels, Aaron Williams, Ben Wallace, Dennis Rodman. A rebounding fool to set up fast break opportunities and for offensive put backs.
I think Aaron Williams will be great for this team. By the way, Antonio Daniels is a guard for the sonics. You must mean Antonio Davis. I would take him too. Hopefully we can do something about this power forward situation
Whats his contract look like? Is he getting paid out the roof? The last I heard he was on the trading block, and he could score? Not sure though....
I agree kind of. Walker isn't exactly what you think of when you think of putting a tough PF next to Yao, but he's averaged 9 rebounds for his career. He's proven he can rebound in the West with Dallas last year where he averaged close to 9 rpg and sacrificed his offense for the rest of Dallas' scorers. (14,9,5 in dallas) He would be a third option here. I would probably have to do this trade.
NO WAY would this workout and make us a better team. Walker is a BALL HOG. He knows how to do one thing and one thing only: take shots! On top of that he displays probably the worst shot selection I have ever seen and turns the ball frequently. He is a player that wants the spotlight on himself. He's selfish, he complained when Nelson reduced his minutes in Dallas. Complained about wanting to go to a place where he could be an All-Star again. This guy would not be happy with his role as a 3rd option. This, of course, assuming Atlanta would even look twice at this lopsided trade proposal in the first place. On paper, they trade a guy averaging 22 points and 9 rebounds a game with an expiring contract all for Mo Taylor and freakin Spoon?! If their intention is to move him, they could get a better deal in return. And on top of all that, keeping him & showing him the door on the way out at the end of the season is a much better idea IMO. I don't care how bad Atlanta is, players go to whomever offers the most money. It makes no sense to blow that to get Taylor and Spoon.
there are a few guys in the league I wouldn't trade Matt Maloney's contract for. Antoine Walker is one of them.
I'd do it. Great cost-cutting move. I'd make sure I could live with Howard and Padgett at the 4 first though. I wouldn't play Walker more than 20 mpg.
