One of the best movies you have never seen: Return to Paradise

I've seen it crow - you are right, a great movie. It would have been a much better story if it were true....

Something to bear in mind if you ever travel to South East Asia - even a small quantity of drugs can land you the death penalty.

i saw it at the theaters. Vaughn was great. I hate J.Phoenix though. I definately would not go back if I were in that situation, especially since they barely knew him.

 

That was a great movie.

On a sad side note. Are you all as broken up as me at the breakup of Anne Heche and Ellen DeGeneres. If they can't make it, is there hope for the rest of us?

ten bucks says Anne goes back to dating men. i always thought she was kinda flaky. poor Ellen. she deserves better.

 

I've seen it.

I thought it was pretty good, almost but not quite great. A good movie to rent though. And, I like Joaquin Phoenix. He's a limited but good actor, if he stays within his abilities.

Also, saying that because they barely knew the guy left them off the hook it totally ridiculous. They participated in buying and using the hashish in question. Are they not responsible for their actions just because they left?

Would you let someone DIE for something you did? Especially, when admitting wrong doing and accepting prison time would spare this person's life?

If not, remind me not to associate with you ever.

it's been awhile since I saw it so maybe I forgot the details but Vaughn went back and the Malaysians screwed them over anyway. I don't trust foreign governments to keep their word on stuff like that. Call me a selfish b*stard if you must but I would probably die in that hell hole of a prison anyway. I'm not going to abandon my family and sacrifice my life for some guy I knew for a few weeks.

I thought the movie was great. Each time I watch it I pick up on a prop or action that symbolizes something that I hadn't noticed in previous viewings. Also, is it just me or did anyone else think that Anne Heche was incredibly hot in that movie? I thought she looked great.

Dream...bring back the goggles

 

DUKE loved that MOVIE, Patrick Swayzey made a good bouncer, BUT it was a little not-realistic that he went to NYU and did Philosophey and THEN made his money by beating up pepole.
