Many of the mannequins in the lower bowl at Toyota Center don't even cheer when there is something to cheer about.

Well at least if the fans boo...they are doing SOMETHING. I went to the Pistons game...first time in the TC...

It was WORSE than it looks when I watch on TV. The place was half empty and quiet like a church. In fact...the loudest it got was when the fans booed at half time as the players walked off the court. It was demoralizing for me and Im sure it was for the team as well. They may have deserved it...but I felt bad for them.

    :(

Don't you just love how the people who start threads like this always end up p*ssying out when they realize that nobody agrees with them?

They make their little statement, then are afraid to defend it once the bashing begins.

    Jack Hammer,

do you want us to cheer when they are playing bad, boring basketball AND losing at the same time. Do you want us to cheer when it seems obvious that during the losing streak they were playing with very little hustle, energy, and most importantly HEART.

Rockets fans dont boo to make themselves feel better or to try to get waht we want. We boo because we care. We boo because the players have to realize that at the very least they have to play with energy and heart. We boo because we want them to win and we are tired of them losing.

If you were at those games that we lost at home, would you be standing there cheering as the Rockets lost over and over again??

The college game is much more exciting than Van Gundy-ball. Consider that the odds are pretty good that on any given night, Rice or UH (playing eight fewer minutes) will outscore the Rockets.

Do I cheer when they aren't playing well? No I don't. I also don't whine like a baby either. I can't stress this enough. If you guys ever played basketball, even in high school, you would understand. So for now you're just going to have to keep whining like a bunch of babies.

What does playing high school basketball have to do with not cheering for a team that is not playing well?

JH is just trying to let us know that if we have no experience in organzied b-ball, then we don't have the right to have any emotions or judgments regarding it.

I guess he thinks basketball would survive without fans considering probably 90% or so have never played organized ball. Good one.

    Jack Hammer,
I've played organized ball and I still boo the Rox performance. I boo cause I'm pissed off. Maybe it is you who doesn't understand organized ball. If I were a Rocket player I would boo our performance. I boo because I care and I cannot stand by and watch these New Yorkers ruin our franchise.

Jack Hammer... soo sad..... You have no idea what you are talking about..

The true fans are backing this team 100% and booo when they dont like what they see out there. We are booing the bad play, the bad coaching moves. If they start playing better, I am sure the cheers will come. Everybody is frustrated right now.

Wow, I didn't think Houston Fans had a pulse. Its nice to see some emotion from rocket fans, youde never know it if you went to a home game.
The point of my thread was Houston fans have a long track record especially rocket fans of being in the moment fans who want the quick resolution rather than the right thing for this rockets team.
I've been to several games over the past year and its just plain disgusting how rocket fans can just boo their own team. THERE IS NO EXUSE FOR BOOING YOUR OWN TEAM.
Sure you can go under the falso bravado of " I care about my team, i'm not going to cheer them when their losing."
When I heard fans boo our Rockets , it just angered me . So sorry if I wanna defend my rockets and you dont like it bc I'm calling you out.
I have friends in Chicago who are TRUE fans and they have the suckiest teams in the nba since His airness left and STILL they get behind their bulls bc they are really true fans. Even i9f you look at their baseball team , their attendance records are almost playoff caliber during the regulart season.
The majority of people who go to Rockets games are rich snobs who usually get their way in life. Dare they even stand and cheer if its no less then the 3rd quarter.
We can just go ahead and bring a sleeping bag when we attend a rockets game bc we'll get plenty of silence.
Hmm, you say Rockets arent playing with any heart? Fans are what get players into the game , they're the blood that keeps the teams heart pumping.

the reason there is little excitement at the TC is because we are LOSING. I went to the kings game (home opener) and it was fairly loud in there. Almost like a playoff atmosphere. When the home team is scoring in the 70s, playing a boring brand of basketball, and losing on top of that it is hard for fans to sit there and cheer.

I do agree taht in general Houston fans are not as loud as maybe the Kings or Pacers but thats just Houston in general. However, this current team has given the fans very littel to cheer about thus far. We win a few games and score in the 90s and the TC will be loud again.

It's all about whining and getting angry with what a lot of you wanted. YOu wanted the Mcgrady deal, and now you complain knowing the fact that the team is diminished. You crucifed Chise and now you want him back. Well what is it? Are you flip-flopping like John Kerry? Make up your damn minds and stop complaining about all the things you wanted.

This is the WRONG place to point a finger at the fans. this forum is where the true fans are, plain and simple. The fans you are describing are the ones who could give a rats ass about how the Rockets are playing and were probably woken up by the Boo's from the true fans at the game. Houston does have some fair weather, lousy and lazy fans but those are not on this board.

Brilliant title. Nothing like a thread beginning with Houston Fans Suck to get everyone in agreement. I'll go you one better, why not start a thread with any of the following titles?

    1. Olajuwon- Most Overrated Center in NBA History
    2. If Michael Jordan Hadn't Retired...
    3. Malone & Stockton- Two Class Acts
    4. Jake O'Donnell Was Screwed
    5. Robinson Did Beat The Buzzer
    6. Van Gundy- Best Coach in Rockets History
    7. Starks Was Fouled
    8. The Drummers Over Turbo, Hands Down
    9. Cynthia Cooper- Greatness, Sentence By Sentence
    10. Clutch BBS- The Sounds of Silence

These would go over tremendously well.
