Was it really more control that totally mess CJ up? It's one thing to "control" a good/excellent Oline like in Ohio State. It's another to manage that line they had on 2nd year for CJ/Slowik and last year's. Also, I do hope, we all hope, CJ is better than that. If he can't do the job, take it like a man and know what you can, or cannot do. If he needs to hand off the ball to an improved running game and therefore have better working play action, then he should. If they keep running out of time because they took too long in the huddle, then they need to speed it up, man. It was a learning process for 1yr OC Caley too so let's hope he also learned a thing or two, especially about his QB. It will not help Caley's case if they do bad, if not due to injuries.

And with all the changes to the Oline, it should improve but it can still be a communication nightmare due to all the new pieces. It would be best not to have CJ do all the "thinking/adjustments". I heard somewhere, sorry for not giving you credit, that CJ does well with the first series of scripted plays but falls apart later. If true, then give the man some help. So, with that said, I think Rutledge should not switch to center because he is also new to position. Best to have current guy as he may not be a mauler, but he may be able to help out on calls. It will be major props to Keylan to play center and get the job done to point more than acceptable. It's not just about physical play; it is mental too since Center does call protection schemes.

All I can tell you is Cosell said Caley needed to take away CJ calling protections, because CJ struggled with this.
