As if Chip Engelland didn’t already have enough on his plate.

    Sure, whatever.

He got $1.04M guaranteed. That bonus basically says the Rockets can't duck the luxury tax by waiving him. The Rockets don't duck the tax by waiving Crawford. The Rockets duck the tax by waiving Davison.

His left hand spinning hook shot is the most reliable offensive action we have though...Ime gotta prop up his lack of offense as much as possible ;)

I’m going to zag here and say I love this signing. End of bench guy that brings it in practice and plays hard no matter what. If you’re expecting Prime Ariza or Parsons in that slot you’re delusional.

I cannot find any reason, unlike most people on this thread, to complain paying 3m, partially guaranteed money for Tate to make him the 12th / 13th man on the roster. Really absurd reactions from some here.

I respect Tate for his professionalism, however he doesn’t help the team at all now. Stone and Ime have no plans for the future of the Rockets. Ime will not let Reed get better, by pulling him out every time when he makes a defensive error. This is an example which leads to uncertainty in a young player’s mind, and this applies to nearly everyone. Defense is very important, but the Rockets lack good two way players. Nobody apart from Smart and Tate wants to play for Ime imo.

His signing doesn’t even warrant a Shams bomb?

In the far future after the sun has run out of hydrogen to fuel itself, long after the oceans have evaporated, the only things left to witness the sun eventually consuming the earth will be cockroaches, tardigrades, and JaeSean Tate.

Tired of the negativity on this site. Anyone with eyes can see that guys like Crawford and Tate are the lynchpins to winning a title. Other teams go out and get overrated players like Brown, Ball, Gia. We have the smart GM here who is ahead of the pack with guys like Smart, Tari, Crawford, and Tate. Not quite as talented as those mentioned above, but close AND much more economical which is great management and stewardship by the underappreciated Stone.

Tate banked 6 seasons with us. Going on number 7. Longest tenured player since the Raphael era.

While there are active players (superstars) like Stephanie Curry and Jokic who remained on their team...

Couple of notable still active role/bench players to chase are
a, Jonathan Issac with the Magic (2017-now) 9 seasons
    b. Dwight Powell with the Mavericks (2014-now) 11+ seasons.

Tate (undersized) and Crawford (undersized) are our forward options once someone in our impressive frontline (Adams/Sengun Jabari/KD) goes down with an injury. Then, we'll be right back where we were in the playoffs, struggling to put anyone out there who can compete on the glass for boards. (For the purposes of this exercise, Bogi and Eason don't count as true PFs)

Here's hoping that our shooting coach can unlock either Tate or Crawford (and maybe others) so offensive rebounding isn't the premium skill we need because almost every player in the NBA can block out or overpower Tate and Crawford.
