I admittedly don't watch much MLS outside of what I've seen of the Dynamo, but they just seem to establish themselves and dominate possession and pace of play from start to finish. It just never felt like SKC was ever going to score in open play, unless it was off a sloppy turnover or a bad deflection tonight. The Dynamo play such a stifling style with their ball dominance and win rate in the opposing half that it's very hard for an opponent to get any kind of rhythm.

Promotion and relegation with MLS and USL would be so much fun.

USL is going to pro/rel in 2028 No chance in hell MLS owners allow that to happen to the MLS. Especially the owners of the more recent clubs that have shelled out hundreds of millions in franchise fees. It would take some kind of massive financial parachute program guaranteed to MLS clubs for that to happen. I'm absolutely all for it but I don't see it happening.

I agree. The new owners rightfully don't want to risk relegation at the price they've bought in on, but it would be such a unique system in the US. I worry about the league's place in our sports landscape as it switches to a fall/spring season and pro/rel would really help it stand out amidst football.

I think the move to the traditional calendar was dumb. Many leagues throughout the world don't play the traditional calendar. When this starts, you'll have Minnesota, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Denver, all of the NE teams playing in the winter. How the hell is that supposed to work out? Now you're going head to head with the NFL, NBA, and NHL. Dumb,

I can't think of a single person in my life, including Austin FC ticket holders, that would choose to attend a game at Q2 on a Texas football game day.

I hope that comes into play for scheduling because you're right. Same in Columbus...which might even bleed into Cincy as well.

That said...even though I really don't care for the product on the field, I'd be more willing to go to a Dynamo game in November than I would in July.

For such a s***ty club, it's really quite fitting.
