Playing fewer games should boost his stamina and production in general.

This year though and namely defense.... of course Correa IF is 90% DNP.

And of course there's zero young players in recent memory to fill any role.

    Peña constantly injured. Of course.

With no baseball next season the return would not be much.

A hypothetical trade deadline where Houston plays it both ways:

    Astros get:
    OF Jung Hoo Lee

    Giants get:
    P Ethan Pecko
    P Bryce Mayer
    C Jason Schiavone

    Astros get:
    OF Mickey Moniak
    P Antonio Senzatela
    P Kyle Freeland

    Rockies get:
    P AJ Blubaugh
    OF Zach Cole
    P Mike Burrows
    P Cristian Javier

    Brewers get:
    3B Isaac Paredes
    P Steven Okert

    Astros get:
    IF/OF Jett Williams
    IF Andrew Fischer
    P Bryce Meccage
    IF Joey Ortiz

    Cubs get:
    RP Bryan Abreu
    RP Enyel De Los Santos

    Astros get:
    IF Angel Cepeda
    P Pierce Coppola

Astros add better prospects than they send out while deepening and balancing their lineup and improving their bullpen and rotation. The downside is they give up their 2nd best hitter and a lot of upper level pitching depth. Their AAA pitching staff would be a little shallow so the risk is if they have more injuries this season they’d be toast. But they’re toast anyway.

    Roster:
    CF Lee
    SS Pena
    DH Alvarez
    1B Walker
    LF Moniak
    2B Altuve
    RF Smith
    3B Ortiz
    C Diaz
    Bench: Allen, Vasquez, Matthews, Trammell
SP: Brown, Lambert, Blanco, Imai, Freeland, Wesneski
RP: Hader, Senzatela, King, Sousa, Ullola, Santa, Teng

    lol

For now I would love it if the Astros could flip 3rd tier AA/AAA/MLB players/prospects to improve their 2026-2028 outfield and add a fairly reliable SP and maybe a setup man. If they can do that while also flipping their rental RP and one of Walker/Pena/Paredes to further improve the lower levels of their farm, I think it would be ideal. Tough needle to thread.

Correa will start at 3B or SS next season, so one is easy, and quite frankly shouldn't be difficult to replace Walker's value if we can find a taker.
