Imo he was never an ace . He threw hard last year and got hot . Just like hitters can find a streak. He's more 2024 brown than 2025 brown . A good pitcher , but more of a 2/3 . Imo he doesn't have a special pitch. His fastball last year was probably a 65-70which is very good . But it relied on those extra ticks . Hunter brown throwing 96 is nowhere near hunter brown throwing 98. That's a problem imo Framber for all his mental breakdowns was effective with his fastball if it was 98 or 95 . Heck he was sometimes better at 95 . My overall point is that brown relies on his top stuff too much ... And that's a recipe for inconsistency and not an ace . To be fair to hunter . There are a lot of throwers right now and not too many pitchers . But Hunter isn't 24 anymore . If you can get TOR value for trading him , please do so asap
Yea I saw that later in the night. “Hip tightness” right side. Regardless his core is an issue and will continue to be. Some guys are afflicted with reoccurring injuries, like Foster and his hammys, never could get over those and eventually ended his career.
Hunter Browns command falling apart is getting alarming. He's never been Greg Maddux, but nothing close to what we're seeing right now. After he made the repertoire adjustments in early 24 we basically got almost 2 calendar seasons of true ace level pitching so well beyond the "fluke" sample size. Even if we decided to sell, trading him would likely be selling low right now.
Welp, I’m not going to root for them to lose or anything, but at this point I’m way more excited about the prospect of the Astros having a sellers’ deadline in an extreme seller’s market than I am about them dumping more resources into this year’s team.

Delgado, Dezenzo, Brice, Trammel, Cam, Jake when he was around, that guy at 1B for Walker, all look clueless at the plate. Diaz clueless at the plate and behind it. Allen having to play too much with his inabilities hurting us. Half the time these clueless batters are best served to lay down a bunt to advance runner(s). Do we have broken TVs or ipads? Does the team not watch footage or study themselves or their opponents? Who is the leader in the dugout? Where are the coaches to teach what Espada cannot?
Possible current issue: - health - slump/rust - not enough talent I lean health more than slump just based on the Astros medical staff. We have Walker swinging a bat injured for months..... nobody noticed. Abreu, mechanics. Okay.
