I'll go along with Arenas, but Kiyan Anthony? At the rate he's going, we may be able to get him with a 2nd round pick or as a UDFA. Of course, then you have to wonder how Melo's going to feel about the Rockets drafting his kid. LOL. In other words - just stay away. Kel'el Ware ... just seems like he's on and off, and I mean since his college days. I have no opinion on him. If he was always "on", he'd be elite, though.
I get your observation on Kiyan Anthony. I was thinking if he takes a leap in growth and becomes 1st round material. But the PHX pick could go to whoever BPA is. Maybe Carmelo would be forgiving if the Rockets drafted his son. <insert gif of Kiyan's head on Carmelo's championship formula> Not sure how to paste those type of images Kel'el Ware would be a gamble but he is likely going to be better and worth more than 2 likely late first round picks.
2026: Trevon Brazile and Emanuel Sharpe 2027: Braylon Mullins and Silas Demary Reed/Demary Mullins/Sharpe Amen/Tari Bari/Tari Sengun/Brazile
A lot of guys have withdrawn from the 2026 class 2027 is actually looking pretty deep now. Still lacks a strong top 10 as things stand right now. That could change if any of the players who withdrew from the draft or anybody else has a huge breakout season.
For anyone following along - Spears currently won't be eligible for the 2027 draft due to age requirements. He'll be eligible for the 2028 draft.
Thought experiment. Would you rather have the 1st and 16th pick next draft or the 3rd and 4th pick? If you choose the 1st and 16th would it change if you got 2nd and 3rd?
Not him, but at this point 1st and 16th over 3rd and 4th. I'd lean 1st and 16th over 2nd and 3rd right now, but not seen anyone jump out that excites me close to Stokes. Historically, 2nd and 3rd usually probably wins.
I don't know yet. There are some foreign players I want to see play in college that could be top-10. I'm wary of players like Tyran Stokes. He's supremely athletic and a big body for his position (assuming SF), but his jumper is still a bit suspect, and I'm also not sure about his ballhandling. I want to see if he is one of those kids that destroys people simply on athleticism or can level up his game on the basketball side of things as he moves into college. You've also got kids that are somewhat unknowns or could improve in their college freshman year to where getting the #3 and #4 would be good pickups especially if Stokes doesn't live up to the hype. If you ask me right now who I'd take - it'd be the #1 and #16, but only because Stokes hasn't disproven himself which could happen and because the guys behind him have lots of questions in their own right. But then if Stokes does disprove himself, you may still want the #1 pick depending upon how others below him did during their season. Ask me again towards the end of the college season.
Entirely depends on the draft. At this point I would rather have #2 and #3. It is very early but I think there will be 2-4 players all in play to be the #1 pick. Unfortunately none of them would go top 5 in the 2026 draft. I think if Flemings had stayed for a second year, he would have gone #1 in 2027.
