[T]his offseason, Ryans has fixated on being a smarter football team with a sprinkle of enhanced physicality in the trenches to help work toward executing deep in the playoffs. During OTAs and mandatory minicamp, walk-through reps emphasized being in the right spots from the playcall. There weren't many 11-on-11 reps outside of two-minute and third-down situations. All key moments that have hindered the Texans in the playoffs. "I've grown as a head coach," Ryans said. "For me, it's more so now about how much smarter can we play as a team. How can we be more elite on our execution? Our communication, can it be louder? Can we echo it more? Can we truly be tied together every time we line up? That's what I've seen when I talk about the process of us this year being better." more at the link https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/49367131/houston-texans-2026-offseason-approach-postseason-woes
Alright, have enjoyed the World Cup, but it’s time to open the curtain on what I “hope” is going to be a year of Texans football that will be as magical as it will be unprecedented
We have improved on D, we have improved the O Line, IMO it's now or never. We won't be able to keep paying our D at this rate and LBH, this D should be NASTY this year. CJ, we need you man, I am not here for that "be average" crapola, no man, I need you to be the guy we picked with the second pick of the draft...........no one gets a pass, you never know how next year unfolds so let's ride this wave.
I have some English friends and their view of their national football team reminded of my view of the Texans. Ever hopeful. Prepared for for a kick in the junk. No expectations.
Let’s go get Terrion Arnold. Having him (if he’s cleared to play) as a first off the bench and dime package. We would have the best CB1/CB2/CB3 in the league. And I don’t think it’s even close. There is an argument for us having the very best CB1, the very best CB2 and the then very best CB3 in the league. Both starters are top 10 and TA under Meco would be top 20. In my humble opinion. Plus TA brings an 80 - whip @ss on that titans cb moron - to me.
Texans fell on the ranking of young (under 25) talent https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/49417396/2026-ranking-all-32-nfl-teams-25-young-players Fell from #1 (3 years in a row!) to.... #2
Anyone read that article? I thought they would Poo Poo CJ for being bad but they didn't. Well, maybe they did. As Maye on Pats make them #1. Really? Doesn't matter. nothing matters if CJ clicks and gets back to what he can do. This city needs to get to the SB and win it.
They had CJ as a blue chip in years past. Technically, he AND WAJ fall of this year as they both turn 25
My favorite offseason night cap would be Jadeveon Clowney as a boomerang and Terrion Arnold as a bargain bin addition. Both would be significant additions. Best defense in the league already and we add two more five-star athletes.
Clowney or Barrnett would be just fine. Would cost more for Clowney but reunion on way to SB would be an awesome storyline. Terrion Arnold is a reach for his off-field issues and may not help any teams this season with potential suspensions.
