    Wow.

I have a signed Greeneville Astros shirt McCullers sent me as part of a fan appreciation thing he did on Twitter when he was still 20 years old.

Lance is a legend of this era and those 24 curveballs against the Yankees was one of most badass pitching performances I have ever seen ever.

Thanks for 2017 and 2022. Sucks he became injury prone, especially during his big contract. Does Houston a solid by waiving but also goes to a contender. Stay healthy, take down the Dodgers and let's meet in the World Series.

Blanco probably rejoins the 40-man. Same for Sousa.

I mean. Yeah. It's sad to see a great dude go, but the reality is that he wasn't going to ever be that guy again. Wish him all the best!

He gave us some great memories and performances. But there was just no logical reason to still try to rely on him for anything. He's not a reliever and he can't put together 4 decent innings without imploding or getting injured. It's a shame what happened to him since the talent was clearly there.

I appreciate his love for the organization and the city. If he did this to help the club, then all the more reason to thank him for what he's done.

Maybe Milwaukee figures something out and gets literally anything out of him at this point.

If they were serious about winning he would be.

Damn. Gonna miss you McCullers. Thought he would retire an Astro considering Houston didn't give up on him during his injuries over the years.

I just dont get why everybody is sad to see LMJ go? This should've happened two yrs ago. Why do people want to hold onto the past when it keeps the team from having a brighter future?

Sad to see someone who has had a major impact on the Astros winning a World Series does not mean unhappy this move was made.

You can both appreciate the memories and what Lance has meant to Houston and think this is a good move for the current franchise.

God forbid people actually liking a player who contributed significantly to the greatest era in the cities history. Not everybody has a soulless "you're not doing anything now so f**k you" mentality.

It was the right move for the franchise and, most of us anyhow, still appreciate what he did for the us in the past.

F**k Jose Altuve right, why does anybody like him. He's not a good player.

I was at Game 7 of the ALCS in 2017 when that mother falcon threw a bazillion curveballs in a row, and the Yankees couldn't touch it.

Lance played a huge role in the 2 WS rings. The 24 straight curveballs in 17, throwing 6.1 shutout innings in the Seattle 18 inning game in the ALDS, and if he didn’t get hurt in 2021 during the White Sox series, the series against Atlanta may have played out differently. That was probably one of the most dominant stretches of his career and he seemed like he was becoming one of the top pitchers in baseball.

If the Brewers make a playoff run, I’ll definitely be pulling for Lance and it would be pretty cool to see him shut down the dodgers in a series clinching game or something.

Gonna be real, I’m not excited about the Astros deluding themselves into being buyers

Thank You Lance for everything but wonderful little miracle for Astros that somebody took the contract and he waived NTC too.

Not gonna be dissapointed at all if he turns the clock back for one final run in October bright lights. Brewers has been so good turning players around that they must have some ideas for both guys.

They might see Gordon as new "Brent Suter" use whenever type for them if not starting. Soft tossing BP lefty with funny old school delivery he was/is. Looked like a dude with no stuff and seem to pitch everytime when turning Brewers game on. Decent 3.66 ERA career for low leverage arm. Overall pick 965 :).

The fact that somebody took that contract and Lance (Gordon or not) made my mouth water what selling even little bit might get you. But you are right, we are probably gonna bring in couple of established players coming FA's end of the season and pay with the futurish things for them.

Holding onto the past will get you nowhere in the future.

Hopefully this means that the Texans sign Terrion Arnold soon.

Agreed, and teams should never hold onto players for sentimental reasons
