Again, mr dishonesty, the problem in the equation isn't obama, but the RESPONSE of your ilk to having a black man in charge of you.

We aren't basing it on anything that we think about obama. We are basing it on what we think of you and how he makes people like you react.

How can anyone honestly blame our country's problems on the people who aren't running the country? Losing an election doesn't make you responsible for what the winner does with power. Iran, inflation, tariffs, the debt, the authoritarian power grabs.... That's on the POTUS and his administration, full stop. Not a hard concept.

First off, nobody is in charge of me. I take responsibility for my own actions. I don't go around blaming everything else for my failures.
Second, the POTUS is not a dictator. He is not in charge of civilians. So weird you think this way.
Third, I judge a person by their character, not their political affiliation.

    Two different things.

@Ottomaton says Trump is a reaction to Obama, and I think the evidence supports that. His career launched with birtherism, questioning Obama's legitimacy years before he ran, and his agenda as president reads like an undo list for Obama specifically: the Iran deal, Obamacare, Paris, DACA. It shows up in the voters too: studies on Iowa counties that flipped from Obama to Trump found the swing was driven more by racial resentment than economic anxiety, some of it pulling in previously disengaged voters. Political scientist Michael Tesler traces this backlash back to Obama's 2008 election itself.

You were saying, at least as I took it, that the losers (Clinton, Harris) are to blame for what happened to our country. I was responding to that.

Post-Racial or Most-Racial? Race and Politics in the Obama Era | Political Science Quarterly | Oxford Academic

    Extract
After the historic 2008 election of President Barack Obama, many pundits proclaimed that the United States had entered a new era in which racial prejudice no longer existed. However, numerous scholarly works, including Michael Tesler’s first book, Obama’s Race (coauthored with David Sears) debunked the notion of a postracial era. Obama’s Race demonstrated that the historic nature of a potential black president made race more accessible in the minds of many Americans, compared with previous presidential campaigns. In many ways, Tesler’s solo-authored book, Post-Racial or Most Racial: Race and Politics in the Obama Era can be thought of as the sequel to Obama’s Race.

The premise of Post-Racial or Most Racial is that President Obama’s position as the most prominent figure in American politics ushered in a most-racial political era in which mass politics was divided by and over race, a phenomenon that Tesler refers to as “the spillover of racialization hypothesis.” As in his other work, Tesler relies on an impressive variety of surveys and research designs to advance his argument. Although alternative hypotheses are scrupulously considered, Tesler convincingly demonstrates that racial attitudes’ influence on a variety of political evaluations increased significantly after becoming connected to President Obama— including evaluations of Obama’s rivals (such as Mitt Romney), public policy preferences previously unrelated to race (for instance, health care), and even the public’s impressions of Portuguese water dogs (the breed of the Obama family’s dogs). Although the deluge of data is sometimes a bit overwhelming, by the time one reaches the conclusion, it is difficult to dispute that racial considerations seem to carry more weight and extend to more issues than before Obama’s presidency.

This particular formation has been developing since Nixon but there’s no doubt that Obama exacerbated it for the GOP.
