for all the old folks on this site......do you guys find yourself less motivated or interested in basketball after stopping playing? My knee finally gave up at 40, too much pain after playing + gout, I stopped playing basketball about 2 years ago. Used to play a minimum of twice a week, both casually and competitively through the years. I used to be really addicted to watching ball, not just the nba, but also NBL, euro, CBA etc. any game I can catch. Read all the news etc. Will organize drinking/watching nights or even weekends for special events. i remember we used to rent out an air BnB for me and some friends to basically watch the all star weekend, play some ball during the afternoons and drink. Now, not so much. Ill watch some highlights and even that don't excite me anymore. Maybe cause I don't hang out with the guys I used to play ball with as much. But over the last two years or so really not interested anymore. Any other old buggers the same as me?
@Salvy @RB713 Is there a woke basketball league where if you are white your 3 point shots are worth 1 point because of racism?
You can change the thread and make it D&D Start talking about race and Palestine @Salvy maybe a transgendered children league for @glynch
get a new one get a prescription for allopurinol, problem solved now get out there and start hooping with the old guys this is now officially a D&D thread . . . feel the Bern
I've seen a 70 year old man play full court 5v5 at the YMCA before. It was a bit unsettling but 40's and 50's are totally do-able for those with health and luck.
I held on as a Rockets fan much longer than I was actively playing basketball. But with age and cynicism, I eventually gave up on watching basketball too. Now, I'm just a twisted creature lurking in the shadows of D&D.
hahaha I feel the same lol. Been on the site for a good 20 years now, but **** now Im in D&D much more lol
Ever since I tore my meniscus, I can't pivot without 10/10 pain and it makes doing anything athletic besides running a huge pain.
Portland is about to lose the blazers because the city is infested with woke @Salvy @Os Trigonum Bill Walton rolling in his grave
old people rock FIFY no paywall At 91, He’s Hiking the Appalachian Trail. Again. Dale “Grey Beard” Sanders once set the record as the oldest person to complete the roughly 2,190-mile trail. Now, he’s back for his title. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/14/...e_code=1.xlA.0Ok_.hfC8pquUT7bS&smid=url-share
