You're a good dude and I get not wanting to speak ill of the dead. We should all strive to not become like the people we hate. I would personally like to think he had reasons, besides hanging on to power, for behaving and voting the way he did and that maybe, just maybe, he wasn't the snake he appeared to be. I never defended "him", I argued that being a closeted homosexual is not a valid reason to shame a politician. I think criticizing his voting record is 100% fair game, regardless of whatever way his whistle blew.
