WOW -- NYC real estate CRUMBLING -- this city is going down the toilet FAST. My advice: Get out while you still can -- it will get ugly.
Mamdani's TOWER OF TERROR nearly wiped out an entire NYC block. Including the Israeli Consulate. Which city employee approved the construction plans? WOW.
Now representatives of Mamdanistan are trying to subvert our government. They backed down after the State Department stepped in... NYC is going to turn into a third world country really quick. My advice would be to leave the city while you are able.

I have been fortunate (or unfortunate depending on your perspective) to have lived many places across the USA and the world. I have lived in Europe - and I have lived in rural and urban areas. No place or situation is perfect - but when it comes to how well a city is operated, NYC is exceptional. It has to be because of it's population, but regardless it is run far better than any city I have lived or spent a lot of time in. They stopped encampment raids when the current mayor first won - but they have started raids again. They also are looking into housing options for those that are New Yorkers. I have never lived a place that is perfect - and a lot of liberals in the USA have a very distorted view of reality in Europe. I like Western Europe (and to a lesser degree N.Europe), but it has a lot of issues. The biggest failing in the USA - that I have noticed is that government leaders in the USA no longer give a **** about Americans. They pursue and support whatever is best for big business and not the American people. That wasn't always the case -- and hopefully that will not always be the case in the future. I have seen Western Europe try to follow suit with the USA leaders - but their citizens are less accepting of it. In Northern Europe there are a lot of issues with racism, cultural problems etc... but their leaders take representing and looking out for the best interesty of their people far more than other parts of the world. The USA has more opportunity - there is more assets, more diversity --- many many things better, but after awhile - when your government is trying to screw you by not passing sensible gun control, not cutting military spending, going to wars and bending over to big business..... the number of Americans that would be better off in Europe grows.
It's SMH sad when such threads get spammed by the Trump bots. Basso. El Conquistador. Basso. Basso. Tinman.
So . . . he is not even in NY LOL I thought the NYers didn't want input from those outside of NY Rocket River
The wealthy are leaving -- as predicted. (high taxes driving them off) Rents are skyrocketing -- as predicted. (40% of apartments dwellers are foreign) Churches are being firebombed -- as predicted. Families are rapidly moving out -- as predicted. The tax base is eroding (in NYC and the whole state), which will lead to a financial crisis -- as predicted. Corporations are moving to Texas and Florida -- as predicted. Socialism has never worked -- get out of New York City while you can. My strong advice. This will get very ugly. GOOD DAY
Going to leave this here. I live in upstate NY. This was released yesterday. Tom DiNapoli is our state comptroller. DiNAPOLI RELEASES TAXPAYER MIGRATION DASHBOARD | Yonkers Times Summarized version: In 2024 there were 256,164 part-year filers; of these filers, 121,251 moved into New York, while 134,913 left the state, a net out-migration of 13,662 taxpayers—a loss of approximately 1 in 1,000 resident taxpayers. The greatest net loss of taxpayers was among married filers with incomes between $100,000 and $500,000 – a net loss of 8,200, or more than half of the total net out-migration, in 2024. Net out-migration rates increase at higher income levels; in 2024, net out-migration averaged 1 in every 100 resident filers with incomes over $500,000. One positive post-pandemic trend is that there has been a net in-migration of single filers each year since 2022. I have 6 years to retirement. I will be home soon. disclaimer, I will be bringing a Yankee with me. Although I have converted her into an Astros and Texans fan. So there is that. I'm not leaving because any of that listed above. Just want to be closer to family and houses are Muuuuccchhh cheaper down yonder.
Best wishes on your move. I am hopeful that you are not relying on a NY-based pension for your retirement, as I fear these pensions will not be able to be paid by New York due to financial mismanagement and debt. I expect this to lead to social unrest in the future.
