Texas Fishing License and Seniors

    Shout out to our great state for offering such a great deal for seniors. Free fishing.....

    Oh, but here's the catch....

    You only get to fish for free if you are 95 years and 5 months old. That's right, if you were born before January 31, 1931 you can fish without a license.

    People born before 1931 have always been exempt, if you are born in 1932+ you will never be exempt regardless of how old you are

    Makes me wonder if something happened around 1995-1996'ish or something. lol.

    I did find the date was changed by a whopping 4 months back in 2011 :D : https://capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/82R/billtext/html/HB00550F.HTM

    Also, apparently, the limit in Texas is 65 years and older for residents of Oklahoma and Louisiana. Which leads me to believe it may be a money thing for Texas Parks and Wildlife (which, I guess, is understandable)?:
