A guy with 100 innings of league average ERA being one of your worst starters...must be nice.

Tigers easily the unluckiest team in the league so far. 38-50 despite outscoring their opponents for the season.

Will never forget his HR off Hoffman breaking his saves streak. Astros lost the game though.

Awesome hitter, although he sucked in the postseason for us. I'll take Yordan, Berkman, Altuve, and Bagwell ahead overall considering playoffs. Alou was worse than the Killer Bs.

WTF happened to King Tuck and Framber.......................maybe the Astros were right in letting them go. I am more intrigued about Tuck, the dude just doesn't seem to have any emotion, good or bad he is always stoic, your making $60 million my dude and you straight up suck this year

Through 86 games in 2026, Kyle Tucker has been a consistent offensive contributor for the Los Angeles Dodgers, posting .249 batting average with 7 home runs, 47 RBIs, and 6 stolen bases ESPN. He’s accumulated 75 hits and 52 runs scored, driving in a league-best .349 on-base percentage and a .731 OPS

Bregman isn't exactly tearing it up either.

Anybody dissect the impact of US born players playing year-round select ball from age 8 on, and whether it will eventually lead to a form of burnout as these guys approach their late 20's?

Obviously baseball is a ridiculously hard sport to master and eventually make to the big leagues. Can't rely on god-given height (basketball) or size (NFL). Takes years to master either pitching or hitting. The ones that go to college get further pressed (especially pitchers).

I know JV did comment on how ridiculous the game is now and how much more miles these arms have before they even get close to professional ball.

I thought he would go off the cliff batting wise but like in 3 years when the uninterested attitude in this sport and maybe lack of doing extra physical work offseason when he ages and keeping up speed & power takes more. I tried looking at his bat speed and there was no significant changes. Tucker lives in 71-72avg.

For Example Brewers Chourio has gone through 2 years of notorious Contreras brothers offseason gym regime and bat speed with it 73->75. Brewers got quite lucky with the trade getting Contreras from Braves. His big brother is absolute c**t but William is great stable leader for that team.

Maybe pressure on Tucker, bad AB's, being finally exposed as terrible defender allthough we and league kept telling stories about 5 tool player for years. In our hearts we knew our then teenage kid would run circles around him in game of tag. He would have just walked out of park without word after getting tagged first time. :)

Im interested how Cubs are gonna fix Bregman. He has lost only 1.5 bat speed in 2 years but he's slow bat from getgo. He's in bad park for him and even squaring-up might not do it with current bat speed. There would be no problem otherwise but he has to produce power with that contract to be somewhat ok investment. Walker is 35yo, Bregman 32yo. Scary to think how things are couple of years from now.

    2026
    Bregman
    69.8 avg bat speed, 33% squared-up / swing

    Walker
    74.3 avg bat speed, 22% squared-up / swing

    2024
    Bregman
    71.3 avg bat speed, 33.7% squared-up / swing

    Walker
    75.0 avg bat speed, 20.2% squared-up / swing

    This season:

Caminero. Jesus Christ how does he make contact ripping like that. Also his bat looks pretty heavy, maybe that's why the outside corner breaking ball keeps getting him often.
    79.9avg/24.8%

    Yordan
    76.1avg/25.6%

Wow, great info, I dont know where you guys come up with this stuff. But it's great info.

Can you give me an idea of a young guy with Cam's bat speed that made adjustments vs a a young guy that was unable to make adjustments.

Not to pile on Tucker, but this is/was an interesting article, especially as it relates to his typical preparation, ie. not taking batting practice, etc. Seems a lot has changed in his approach. I also found this quote interesting as it pertains to salary:

If the expectations of a massive contract had something to do with it, Tucker won't let on.

"I don't care about that," he said. "I'll play regardless of what my contract is or anything else. I'll play the same regardless of any outside stuff."

Tucker has always been a do the least type of player, it's not huge news. It started to show up pretty clearly in his glove, zero reason he should be a mediocre to bad defensive player.

I have no personal issues with him, and derive no happiness from his failings like some others here seem to do. However, he is not the type of player I would have wanted my team to break the bank on. Extra work is just unpaid overtime to him.
