Or he could be Eric Anthony with better defenses. I do believe Dana won't trade Cam for at least a couple of years.

    Trade List
Lance McCullers trade for any struggling bat, change of scenery same salary

Cristian Javier trade for any struggling bat, change of scenery, same salary

Nate Pearson I think has trade value 97-98 mph trade for a Left handed bat.

Nick Allen, Jake Myers, Shay Whitcomb, Brandon Shewmake. Some of them should be moved for a every hitting OF.

Christian Walker - Get Left handed hitting Prospects back, if Astros are out of contention.

If Yankees call and offer Top Prospect Wilberson De Pena FCL for Jeremy Pena.
You have to entertain the offer at least.

    Wilberson De Pena
    .343 12 HR, 50 RBIs 18 SB

    This is revisionist history.

Absolutely ... no one here ... thought JD was going to have a long MLB career when Luhnow released him.

The coaching staff were feed up with JD not listening. The coaches told him to work the count and he would swing at the first pitch. He was a grade A knucklehead ... who got a wake up call when he was released.

Knucklehead? Team was terrible doing those years, 100 loss seasons. More like injury prone and bad batting stance crouching low like Albert Pujols, later changed his batting stance to a normal one.

Draft is in 4 days. Scouting director indicating that the Astros might take more HS players than they previously have. The way things are shaped I would hope for college position players at 17 and 28 then a mix of HS position players and upside college pitchers for pretty much the rest of the draft. The Astros do not need organizational roster filler.

Is this Javar Williams or. . .

Brice Matthews, Zach Cole, Jacob Melton, etc?

No mention of bat to ball skills. He sure sounds like an Astros prospect.

Zero chance any if this works and most of it is complete pie in the sky.

McCullers has full no-trade rights and with his family and local business interests he will not approve a deal for 3 months. He is the one MLB player I think would retire first.

Javier may only count as $12.8M to AAV for the Astros but if traded it jumps to $21M. That makes his value to the Astros vs value to a new team so skewed that he can't be traded. Astros would need to include so much money it makes no sense.

Nate Pearson may bring back a lottery ticket but he is a RH bullpen arm who throws 98 but has never been successful in the late innings and can't be optioned. There are dozens of those and most pass through waivers unclaimed.

The jumble of bench player filler you listed wouldn't bring back and everyday starter if they were all included. They simply have very very little value. Teams trade away starting players for control and potential and none of those guys have any.

Walker does not bring back a prospect of note unless Crane agrees to pay down his salary and that is unlikely because Crane doesn't want prospects. He wants to win and do it with big name former all-star players.

Sure Pena could could bring back a big package. This one should be explored in the offseason. With Dana fighting for his job no way he trades him during the season. Also trading the last Astro WS MVP to the Yankees is unlikely.

    Draft Schedule

Draft starts at noon Central time on Saturday; day 1 will cover the first 4 rounds. The draft concludes with rounds 5-20 starting at 10:30 AM Central.

For... who the hell knows why this decision was made, tbh, the first 10 picks will only be shown on NBC/Peacock. Fortunately, that doesn't matter since the Astros' first pick is the 17th overall pick.

Kevin Alvarez and Xavier Neyens age range HS Talent.

This could be the last time High School talent gets drafted with a potential Lockout.

    Wilberson De Pena FCL Yankees

His stats are insane. Jeremy Pena for Wilberson De Pena

Kevin Alvarez, Xavier Neyens and Wilberson De Pena very strong Core.

You want to trade Pena for the Yankees #15 prospect, a teenager in the complex league with a weak hit tool and minimal defensive value who was traded for Oswaldo Peraza last year??? No.

    Wilberson De Pena
    .339 Avg 14 HR 55 RBIs 18 SB - That is Elite

Yankee Rankings are misleading other teams and fans on purpose not to look at Elite Prospects for trade.

    https://blogs.fangraphs.com/2026-mock-draft-1-0/

Fangraphs mock draft. LeBron at 17 and Jackson at 28. Those are 2 very high ceiling players, both among the 7-10 highest ceiling players in the draft imho. But both guys have strikeout concerns. They fit a similar profile to Neyens except they are college guys and are more likely to provide up the middle defense.

I still think 17 will be one of Lebron, Hacopian, Curiel, Gracia, or Bell, and 28 will be one of Rose, Strosnider, Robbins, Reese, or Jackson. If they flip the script and go for a pitcher it’ll probably be Peterson or Dietz. Underslot HS picks would be Horn, Lowrance, or Moniscalso. This is not insider info, just reading rumors and looking at Houston’s tendencies.

I’ve seen Justin Lebron’s name next to the number 17 so many times that I’ll be shocked if he’s not the pick at 17.

I would hope Frey has a strong finish to the year and is not at A ball next year .

But no problem with anyone else.

    Draft isn't until June 11.

Jackson and LeBron would be such an awesome first two picks
