Everyone was upset with Harden because Harden dumped us! He did more for this Franchise than T-Mac, Yao, Francis, Mobley, Pippen and Barkley. All the stars/ super stars that were acquired since the Championships. If he can run the point on this team right now, I 100% support getting him. I think it's finally time he comes back to Houston! PG - James Harden / Marcus Smart SG - Amen Thompson / Reed Sheppard SF - Kevin Durant / Bogdan Bogdanovic PF - Jabari Smith Jr / Tari Eason ..C - Alperen Sengun / Steven Adams I think that is a very formidable team.
If Harden would accept a 6th man role it would be the perfect scenario. He would provide play making in the 2nd unit and allow Reed to play off the ball which he is better at. Smart would provide better defense with the starters.
At this point Ime’s offense is such a disaster that I’m warmed up to a Harden reunion as long as it doesn’t cost us any good future 1sts and FVV/Capela salary. Just as long as people understand that it’s very unlikely that while the team will be much more reliable in the regular season, it’ll still likely be a very short playoff run. Harden centric offenses are what they are and without another true perimeter playmaker, the offense will be easy to shut down in a 7 game series. Still, for the sake of the watchability of the regular season and the growth potential for Sengun, Jabari, and Amen, I’m in… again as long as it costs little. It also would be cool to see Harden retire here and have a classy ending where he should have played his entire career. I’ll even forgive the stupid Westbrick trade Harden made happen if he stays and is a professional the rest of his stay.
You should be more concerned with the gross shooting and spacing from a Smart, Amen & Sengun combo. Easily one of the worst if not the worst starting offensive 5 in the league.
To everyone who loves Harden and thinks he will solve playoff issues. Harden has a 42- 43 record in the playoffs. His career shooting percentage in the playoffs is less than %25. The poster that said its the furthest we've made it. Replace James Harden's name with Chris Paul, We only made it to the conference finals twice. Then the other time we made it to the conference finals, replace Hardens name with Josh Smith, Jason Terry, Dwight Howard, Corey Brewer, and Trevor Ariza. Now take his short comings. I'll give you biggest ones in my head. Game 7 after Chris Paul is out, 12 turnovers. Then against the Spurs in the semis. 2-12 shooting and getting your shot blocked from behind, by a shell of his former self Manu Ginobli. I haven't mentioned his blunders after he left the Rockets. So I am justified at saying, hell no. Im not a hater either.
The clowns in this thread pretending our team who’s lost to the lower seeded team in the playoffs twice in a row aren’t beggars in this scenario are hilarious. Trade FVV for him immediately if the option was on the table. Which it isn’t.
I'd let him retire here if the salary and situation was possible and importantly accepting the right role. Love or hate him, he's still an all time great Rocket.
Check the poll. It's a pretty clear that consensus is hate. LeBron is the true b*tch though with his innuendos and feeling entitled to demand specific players at this stage of his career. Let him retire in a random *ss Philly. Making another decision farce. Jordan is forever the goat because he is just way more likeable. Harden, I am the system, meets the chosen child. Exciting to see how that plays out
