I’ve pretty much accepted what this year is about to be. Just hope it’s Fred’s last and the organization is moving towards a retool and Ime loses some power in decisions I like the guard depth signings but we have one of the most embarrassing backcourt rotations in the league. Hope no big trades means we are waiting for Fred to expire and draft a couple guards in the lottery next year. Just make it through the year without ****ing up everyone’s development anymore and wait for those picks. Reevaluate trading KD or Sengun next summer. Wish we would look into either Jamal or Dejounte to have a decent point guard on the team
Nobody is going to overrule Johnson on the biggest of stages.......I mean yeah...... Billy was good in College but he left OKC, then left Bulls.....and the team was better for it....
I'm gonna say... Offseason so far = small step forward. We lost nobody of significance We made no bad moves We added 2 depth pieces that we didn't have last year. I don't see the harm so far? Looks like we have made marginal upgrades to the bench, and are quasi-adding a starting PG I'm not in love with the off-season so far, but I don't think it is chicken little territory. It's not like we're the Celtic or Hornets!
Rockets are putting all of their chips on the twilight years of KD and his burner to carry us on offense. Bogi & Smart ive always liked as players but they are also at the closing ends of their careers. This team is injury prone. This a regular season team only. Spurs OKC Minny Denver Lakers Healthy Warriors Healthy Blazers( Yes i think their roster and talent is better) Knicks Pistons 76ers Heat Cavs Pacers Celtics I don't see or trust the Rockets as currently constructed beating any of those teams in a playoff series. I take coaching into account as well.
Most likely a 2nd- or 3rd-round exit in the playoffs, if all are healthy. Not sure what the future holds, but I don't think this is as bad based on what is/was available in the trade/FA market. Just because certain star players were available does not mean it is easy to get.
Very true & agreed about Johnson he is an elite coach. Donavan still has had some success running a team and can offer a different perspective. Ime just have a bunch of yes men & his buddies around him.
The offensive system would have to work well enough first for him to even get a wide open shot. Unlikely.
The vibes are just horrific. I think they need to move KD and post-Insta-collapase Fred to wipe the slate and let the guys build something. I'm sure Stone will continue being patient though. Continuity is important after all!
We added shooting in the form of a player who has been washed for half a decade... but other than that we haven't addressed any of the areas of weakness on the roster. But we did add a defense only guard who has been washed for half a decade.
* cooked for the decade durant most likely reverts back to being oft-injured and starts a steep decline in play even when healthy
We standing pat as if we accomplished something last season. Signing smart and bogdan aren't significant moves at all so I don't expect anything but a first round exit this coming season as well.
Totally agreed. I don’t know how anybody can be happy knowing that the biggest move is made is signing Tari Eason to a 5 year 80 million contract.
