Alpi got a bit into rhythm but then got his 3rd foul. Bosnia is missing Nurkic and Smailgic but they are playing hyper aggressive and Luka Garza is hitting everything right now.

Turkey managed to win against Garza and some plumbers. I felt like Turkey wasn't really prepared for such a hard game. Bosnia lacked Nurkic and Musa but they needed the win much more than Turkey and they really fought much harder. Alpi with 14 pts, 4 rebs, 4 assists.

There is another game next monday aginst Switzerland. I guess Alpi will play because the game is in Turkey but it's basically an exhibition game as Turkey secured the first place in the group and Switzerland is in the last place.

Not related but I saw the following stat posted.
Rockets 38% from threes when Sengun is on the floor vs 35.5 when off the floor and 11 potential assists.(2nd from the C position)
The context came from how to avoid being next to last in three pt attempts.
    Diving deeper:
IF everyone who can shoot, excluding Amen and Alpi, takes one more three plus you add Bogdan with a healthy FVV, they can easily be in the top 5 for most threes attempted. Last year 22% of three point attempts were wiped out due to FVV being the only point guard in the world to run a Pick And Roll action at least here in Houston. So that will be back with him or Smart.

Was he still trying to sell fouls instead of just making a ******* shot?

So according to this thread and all the comments on Twitter, Rockets fans are just going to **** on Sengun next season at every opportunity.

A lot of comments in here dismissing these FIBA games talking about plumbers and other bullshit are just not taking into account the intensity of representing your country.

Watch the games, those dudes are playing a lot harder than any regular season NBA games, it is WCF level intensity, even in FIBA qualifiers. The teams are well coached and well drilled, and again, the players are putting it all on the line because they are representing their country.

And before someone chimes in with BUT HE GOT OWNED BY AYTON IN THE PLAYOFFS: Sengun outscored Ayton by over 6 ppg, out-assisted him by nearly 4 apg, and only lost the rebounding battle by 1.6 boards a game, which he made up for many times over in scoring and playmaking. We lost that series because Durant was injured and we got **** all from the bench. Really starting to get sick of reading so much hate for one of our best players on here, it's a ****ing joke.

You need some context on those numbers.

Yes, he outscored him by over 6 per game. But, he also took almost twice as many shots to do it ( 16.5 to 8.8). Sengun was inefficient in last year's regular season ( though it was an improvement from the prior year). In the playoffs, his efficiency fell off a cliff to 51.9% ts%, that's horrible. Ayton shot a very efficient 61.4 ts%. So, shooting and scoring wise, Ayton was the better of the two in the playoff series.

Yes, Ayton only out-rebounded Sengun by .6, but he also played 7.7 minutes less per game. So, Ayton was the better rebounder in the series.

Sengun did have more assists, but that's expected. That's part of his role. Ayton, though, isn't a passer. The problem is that even though he had more assists than Ayton, Sengun still averaged under 5 ast per game (4.7) while committing 3 turnovers per game. Thats an awful 1.56 ast/to ratio. His passing was just as inefficient as his shooting.

Finally, this is the most important one - Ayton isn't a very good center. Even if Sengun had outplayed Ayton ( he clearly didn't), at $30m+ per season, he should have dominated him.

Sengun is a bad defender and we cross match more than any team in the league and one of the main reasons for that is to hide him on a weak offensive player. He's inefficient shooting the ball. Everyone wanted to get rid of Green because he was so inefficient. Well, go look at the numbers from 2025. Green and Sengun had almost identical ts% in both the regular season and playoffs.

Sengun had an ast/to ratio under 2 for this past season. In the playoffs it was 1.56. People used to scream because KPJ had an ast/to under 2.0.

Being inefficient scoring and passing and then actually getting substantially worse at each in the playoffs isn't a recipe for success. That's not even mentioning the fact that he's a bad defender.

He just has to be better or we need to get what we can for him.
