    I call cap.

I won't believe any trade rumors unless Marc Stein or Jake Fisher writes about it.

No he doesn't. Why do you people lie as if we can't look up the numbers?
    Reed year 1 - 33.8%
    Korver year 1 - 39.1%
    Reed year 2 - 39.4%
    Korver year 2 - 40.5%

That's their 3pt percentages. Stop bullshitting, it's tiresome.

    Here's my question, bro...

I keep hearing about how we crapped out on our tanking and drafting... about how Stone failed to turn all these frps into a superstar...

some go so far as to say we should sell off our assets for future draft capital and resume a rebuild....

but at the same time, I hear about how KD (and in this case Kyrie) take away valuable developmental minutes for our young core...

    which is it?

Did we bust on our frps... or do we have a solid nucleus that can grow into stars?

Imo... our youngsters are alright... guys that can develop into solid starting options on a championship team... but none of them are lead dogs.

So shouldnt their 'development' be about learning to properly play around a superstar? Stepping up as needed - but moreso fulfilling a support role?

I mean, u can let them be the 'head honchos' on a mediocre team... but is that going to benefit them in the long run?

Jeremy Lin was a superstar during Linsanity when he was given the keys to the candy store... but he didnt really work out when he was made part of an ensemble and didnt have everything revolving around him...

Just keeping it real... are we training these guys to become superstars... or do we want them to be strong accent pieces like Big Shot Bob?

Further, I think we oughta hammer this KD window for the next year or two... and hope the youngsters can step up and contribute... and hopefully either 1 or 2 of the youngsters take a huge step up - or we find our next superstar to plug in with them after KD retires.... Use the old guys to keep us relevant and hope the youngsters can first develop into solid support roles...

and personally, I'm in favor of moving Alpi... love the dude and enjoy his offensive attributes... I think he could even be the main guy on a middling team... but I think we need a center that is a better rim protector if we do have championship aspirations... if he could develop a better shot, he could also be a good stretch 4... but I just think he's too limited in these areas...

So you are saying his knee is “done” and you want another team to make a trade with you for him?!? Hmmm…

These are also good comps. They are “undersized” SGs.

He said they had basically the same 3pt percentage in their second year. Are we now pretending over 1% is "the same" now? Korver starter better, and still was better by year 2, by a degree that separates "very good shooter" from "elite shooter"

Once we pick the players we have to turn them into gold and that’s where this organization fails over and over again. We have historically (aside from Yao and Sampson, Hakeem) traded to get the top tier talents.

The franchise truly is not seeking a legacy, it’s a constant failure to realize that you need a lot of trust and faith between the FO, coaching and training staff to build a great team organically.

It would also be incredibly delusional to assume people want to play in Houston. It has failed over and over again to land the GOAT players.

Today, the best chance this franchise has is to develop the young talent the right way. Put veterans there that can actually fill that mentorship role, add contributing players to the coaching and training staff who can teach.

Let the players actually focus on winning rather than be stressed about trade rumors and shitty teammates criticizing them.

Harden, Kyrie and KD already played for Brooklyn.....people want that again.....

KD is here just for the Olympics.....don't listen to the other noises.

If you want to acquire aging stars, you cannot outduel Philly now for example, and OKC, Spurs and NYKnicks are here to stay.

Personally I take watching young players over 33-35 year old players any day of the week, 2x on Sundays.

I agree with u for the most part... I'm certainly not advocating that we tear down the roster and start tanking....

I'm merely stating the dichotomy that exists in many of the views some posters are constantly saying...
like saying Stone whiffed on all these draft picks - but then saying they need to be developed... why would u devote years to developing guys if u think that u got a bunch of busts? I like most of our guys - Amen, Bari... I like Sengun but i dont think he has the right skillset for a championship... Reed idk if he can be a solid starter - but i like him as a backup....

I just dont think any of them are lead character level... i think we gotta have a KD or hopefully we pull a star from our 2 2027 frps... otherwise we're asking midlevel guys to do the impossible... Let em focus on winning - in roles they can actually fill... not expecting them to be superstars just bc we need superstars... like trying make Amen a pg bc well we needed a pg - nevermind that his shooting is subpar and questionable handles... set guys up to win not fail with unrealistic expectations...

I loved FVV and DB as the mentors they were brought in to be... but i wasnt worried 'they were taking minutes away' from the youngsters...

Despite the disdain on the board for KD, the dude is a first ballot HOFer who is having some of the most efficient scoring of his career... I'm saying lets not waste that...
I'm not looking to mortgage the future by shipping out 3 or 4 frps as are getting thrown around in these other trades...
but if we could get a Kyrie for damaged goods (FVV/DFS) and 1 pick... i think it would be a good thing...
Do u want our young guys getting tons of minutes in meaningless games when we're a sub .500 team or do u want them doing 30 and learning to be a cog in the machine of a playoff team and getting post season experience? I cant believe any of the youngsters feel good about last post season - which they would experience on an ongoing basis if we dont try to supplement the roster....

and i like the old guys bc its a year or two... we arent getting pulled into some 5 yr max contract for somebody w "potential" that may never be realized... like a Kelvin Cato contract - lol!

and hopefully after the 2027 draft... or 2029 draft.... we will get a young star or 2 and our present youngsters have become vets who are a solid supporting cast...

    FVV & DFS + 2nds for Zach LaVine. He’s an expiring 39% 3pt shooter

Doubt kings would say no. Would save them like $10mil in cap space

Signing KD was a mistake in itself, sure, he is decorated but he is also one of the worst chemistry killers of the last decade.

If it was not for the Worriers, he would have no ring .....much like Harden, much like Westbrook.

I get that people want excitement, that is what Kyrie brings, but they are just one decade too late......dude is damaged goods....Houston like damaged goods. You might just go for Lebron and AD at this point.

Even the Clippers understand now that drafting Wagler equals the same excitement as when they got Kawhi back then.......

To your question about leaving the leftover youngins to 0.500 basketball, well, for one they are not 'rookie' young no more, Sengün will be 23-24 soon esp with his intern. mileage, he looks like a 28 year old, forgot he played professionally since he was 16, that is not young in the NBA, Tari is going to be 24, Bari is younger I admit....they are basically covering for KD's arse when he is injured....
